This was the first day back at F-Troop after a Covid enforced break - our last day was 21st June 2021 so there was a huge back up of work for our F-Troopers to face.
We had a very enthusiastic number of volunteers this morning ready to get to work. 11 volunteers turned up which was a fantastic start.
On hand we had Duncan Dyer, Sam Knox, Kevin O’Brien, Trevor Harrison, Terry Coyle, Peter Martin, Rob Benson, John Hollebon, Ron Gowing, Di Beechey and Jan Martin.
Projects worked on today were tree maintenance, hedge maintenance, loose timber and rubbish pick up around the course, cleaning of pathways at the clubhouse, 1st and 10th tees, wedding garden, practice nets, weeding and tidying of gardens at the 1st and 10th tees and wedding garden, firewood preparation, cleaning of bush toilets, tidying gardens at the 14th and 6th tranquility garden.
It was a challenge today to pick the most urgent jobs but I think we did a good job to cover what we did.
Morning tea was very welcome and it was good that we could enjoy our traditional morning tea underneath the clubhouse.
A big thank you to our volunteers who turned up today with only a week’s notice.
We could do with more volunteers if any of our members are interested in helping to keep our golf course neat and tidy. One day of wind can cause havoc with loose timber down and rubbish blown everywhere.
We meet at 7.00 am on most Monday Mornings at the Greenkeepers Shed. At this point you would need to be double vaxed. We work until 10 o’clock and then the club supply morning tea.
YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
