After many days of constant rain the course has needed to be closed due to the volume of water we have received - 400 mls I believe. I understand the course will be re-opened tomorrow and the Ladies Competition will be on - but no carts allowed.
We had 9 volunteers today and we needed all of them. There were branches down everywhere and we only had time to clear the worst of them.
On hand were Trevor Harrison, Kevin O’Brien, Rob Benson, Duncan Dyer, Sam Knox, John Hollebon, Don Nicholls, Peter Martin and Jan Martin.
Projects worked on today were of course loose timber and rubbish pick up, removal of fallen tree at the 14th and cutting up the fallen tree on the 15th, hedge maintenance, cleaning the bush toilets, trimming of agave plants in the greenspace garden, dead heading roses at the putting green and securing the Rose bush after the high wind damage.
The water was draining off the fairways and hopefully it will be clear enough to play on tomorrow.
Morning tea was appreciated after all the hard pick up work.
YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Full trees down on the 4th and 15th, many large branches down all over the course and drains blocked. These photos are only some of the damage.
