My creation - a succulent fairy garden grown for my granddaughters
After a mixed weather day we are happy to say that after only one little hiccup where the field had to be brought in for a short period of electrical disturbance the golf event of the day went ahead as scheduled with just a few light showers and mostly a very pleasant afternoon for the late starters.
Our playing partners today were Peter and Sandy Laybutt and fortunately we were late starters and did not have to enter the field until after the electrical storm so we only suffered a few light showers that were of little consequence. Peter and Sandy were great company and we did have some highlights with the two boys both scoring birdies, Peter Martin scoring 38 points and beaten on a countback for second place in the singles event. We have been trying to have a game with Peter and Sandy for some time and have been beaten by the weather each time - this time we succeeded and had a lovely day on the village green that is looking greener every day with this very welcome rain.
The Golf Event of the day was a Single Stableford + 2 Ball Team Mixed, Men and Ladies.
We had 54 starters with 2 visitors from Magenta and Bondi.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Peter Martin had a birdie on the 15th after a good drive and second shot that could have gone in the hole for an eagle; Peter Laybutt had a birdie on the 16th hole after a great chip in close to the hole; Sandy Laybutt had 3 pointers on the 9th, 14th and 16th; our team highlight was all of us parring the 14th hole (pity it was not a 3 scores to count); Carolyn Buttsworth is planning on being an improved golfer tomorrow at Everglades; Ray Buttsworth had 5/4 on the 10th hole; Lorraine Bignall had a birdie on the 11th with her 3rd shot settling 30 cms from the hole and had 22 points coming home; Kevin O'Brien putted well, on the 18th his 3rd shot was at the end of the path on the 10th tee, Kevin cleverly slipped a low shot through under the trees to almost on the 18th green and then putted in a 6 footer for 2 points; Dick Bosley had a 4 pointer on the 9th; Doug Incoll was on the same course as me and our highlights were finishing with the same ball we started with.
