Lavenders at the 16th tee in full bloom. The bees are ecstatic.
We had a wonderful day for our Ladies Invitation day with the weather clear and sunny with some wind to keep the temperature down. We do not want to complain about the hot weather after such a cold and wet winter.
My playing partners today were Yvonne Cumming, Helen Darke and Elly Van Den Berg. We had a lot of laughs along the way with some good highlights including a great gobbler shot on the 15th from Yvonne for 4/4 and a lovely long putt from Elly for 4/4 at the 3rd.
The Golf Event of the day was a Ladies Team Stableford - Invitation Day.
We had 83 starters with 18 visitors.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: I am sorry I did not make it right around the room today to pick up all the highlights and I am sure there were many: Marianne Lanham's team won the scratch and their highlights were three 5/3's at the18th, 2 birdies 4/4, 4/3 and 6/2 at the 11th; Rosalie Dyer's team had 11points at the 10th; Ann Baker drove to the green on every par 3; Lorraine Bignall had a gobbler 5/3 at the 18th: Alison Guthrie and Helen Stuart both threw their free shot into the bunker; Dawn Tromp took her free throw and sent it backwards into OOB; Elly Van Den Berg kicked her free shot right into a tree and her free throw went straight up in the air and rolled over a hill to a worse place but she recovered well with a great shot down the fairway; Jan Johnson from Everglades almost got a hole in one at the 8th winning nearest the pin and scoring 2/5; Georgina Lamb had 4/4 at the 15th; Sheila Williams had some good 4 pointers and enjoyed good company; Carolyn Buttsworth had 2/5 at the 8th;,Rosie Judd and Helen Smith scored some good points and their team had 10 points at the 10th; Yvonne Cumming had a gobbler 4/4 at the 15th; Elly Van Den Berg sank a beautiful long putt at the 3rd for 4/4; my highlight was enjoying good company and getting a 4 pointer at the 10th.
I was amused at all the free shot stories today where a lot of us finished worse off - golf is not easy when the clubs are taken away!!!! (Who said it was easy anyway).
