Golf - Sunday 30th November 2014 - 62nd Nagger's Cup

We had a lovely day for golf on our 62nd Annual Nagger's Cup Day - A very popular day with our Members.  It was marred slightly by bad weather and a threat of lightning which was short lived and the golf could continue.

We would normally be there making up the numbers but we were waylaid with a family Christening.

The Golf Event of the day was the 62ND NAGGER'S CUP 2014 - AMERICAN FOURSOMES - MIXED.

We had 128 starters.

SUMMER BBQ NIGHT IN THE SUNSET ROOM

We had a beautiful Night this evening at the Summer BBQ Night in conjunction with the meat raffles and Members Draw.  The BBQ was cooked on the balcony by Ranga which was a delicious range of meats and salads to suit every one's taste.

The atmosphere was great, the room looked good, the food was good, the music was good, the company was good  - but where were our other Members?  We had our usual fantastic Club Supporters who enjoyed the evening but there was a lot of space there for a lot more Members and guests.

These nights are especially for Members and their guests, so some along and give your club the support they need and give yourself a chance at winning some great choices of meat trays not to mention the Badge Draw that is building up to a worthwhile amount.

The Badge Draws and Meat Tray Raffles are on every Friday Night and once a month there is a special theme night that is worth attending.

Golf - Thursday 27th November 2014 - Christmas Closing Day

We had some nice slow rain today which was wonderful for the course - however it would have been better if it had held off until after lunch so we could have watched the rain falling from inside the clubhouse.  The fist half of the morning was quite pleasant but then the rain really set in causing the competition to be reduced to a nine hole competition.

My playing partner today was Sheena Asken and we were reduced to a two woman team.  Given that we did not do too badly with our scoring and our best highlight was a great birdie at the 8th hole. Up to the 9th hole our game was very enjoyable with the light drizzle did not worrying us too much.  By half way through the 10th fairway we thought coffee in the clubhouse sounded good.

The Golf Event of the day was a 3 Person Ambrose which was reduced to a 9 hole competition when the rain got heavy and water started to cover the greens.

We had 45 starters.

We were all wet and bedraggled when we came in from the course so I did not get around to highlights or checking out the best Glamour Shoes today.  I hurried home to dry off after presentation and forgot to take a photo of Judy Verlander's contribution today but I did get a visual of them.  I declare Judy Verlander the "Best Glamour Shoes" over the Christmas Closing days.  I don't think anyone else came even close after having a glance around the room looking for glitter shoes.  Maybe next year we can be more competitive.  CONGRATULATIONS JUDY!

Golf - Tuesday 25th November 2014 - Christmas Closing Day

The pressure is on girls!  Who will be able to out do these glamour shoes on Thursday Closing Day!

We had a great day for golf today - a little steamy at ground level after all the overnight rain but the cloud cover helped keep the temperature down.

My playing partners were Lorraine Bignall, Georgina Lamb and Sandra Innes and we did have some good highlights among the wayward shots where we found many trees, sand bunkers and water holes.
Sandra had three 3 pointers in a row, Georgina did some good chips shots to the hole and Lorraine did some huge long shots to reach the green.  We all contributed to the score and had an enjoyable day.
