Another busy day for F-Troop with a large range of projects being covered.
We had 14 volunteers to help out today and we got some good work done.
We had Duncan Dyer, Geoff Bridge, Trevor Harrison, Don Nicholls, Garry Trigg, Rob Benson, Martin Gallagher, Peter Martin, Nigel Asken, Warren Gray, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess, Carolyn Buttsworth and Jan Martin.
Two trees were removed today from the 1st and the 13th. Duncan, Martin, Geoff, Trevor, Garry, Don, Rob and Warren were involved in tree cutting and removing the branches and timber.
Rob and Warren also did rubbish pick up around the course and gardens.
Peter & Don did some maintenance on the pump in the cart shed and helped out with the girls locker room maintenance.
Peter set up the hose at the 3rd Men' tee to get some water to the parched hydrangeas.
Nigel did some removal of weeds at the 13th dam and it is easy to see the difference where the weeds have been removed.
Di, Anne & Carolyn worked on painting the Associates Room and removing some of the lockers to create some new space in the room. The first coat of pain was completed and the obsolete lockers removed with the help of some of the F-Troopers.
I started at the bush toilet area - cleaning up and watering then moved to the 3rd where I cleaned up the 3rd and 5th tees and watered the bike garden and succulent plants; moved the hose on the hydrangeas to give them a good soaking; watered the potted plants in the wedding garden and around; trimmed the hedge and weeded at the 1st tee; cleaned up around the seats and the sand bucket area at the 1st tee; filled up the water feature; moved the hose at the 3rd tee; watered the new magnolias at the front street garden; planted in some new succulent plants at the 14th green space near the bush toilets; watered the gardens at the 5th and packed up the hoses.
Morning Tea was much appreciated by our hard workers. The Giant Muffins were soon demolished - Thanks Chef John!
Today we received a donation of Mauritius Hemp plants from Ted Jones. These plants are related to the Agave plants already planted at the new green space created at the Bush Toilets. These plants will fit in well and are happily settled in their new home. Thanks Ted!
We also received a donation of two dozen or so pre-loved wing splits by Dustin Hallswoth. These will be useful to repair our path edges and garden edges. Thanks Dustin!
YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
