F- Troop - Monday 28th October 2013

We had another busy day at F-Troop today and made some good in-roads to some of our projects.

We had Trevor Harrison, Don Nicholls, Duncan Dyer, Martin Gallagher, Peter Martin, Garry Trigg, Rob Benson, Warren Gray, Geoff Bridge, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess and Jan Martin.

The Tree Gang of Martin Gallagher, Duncan Dyer, Garry Trigg and Geoff Bridge cleaned up along the creek
side of the 6th fairway.

Trevor Harrison & Don Nicholls worked on a security section for club equipment.

Rob Benson & Warren Gray did pick up around the course and assisted me in trimming a large shrub at the 2nd tee.

Peter Martin was supervisor & picked up rubbish around the course.

Di Beechey and Anne Burgess worked on the garden near the putting green

I watered the plants at the 14th and worked on the 2nd Tee garden.

Morning Tea was very welcome with some nice mini cakes from the kitchen.  Than you Chef John!

We received some nice Clivea Bulbs donated by Jan Walker which have found a happy home in the garden near the putting green.  Thank you Jan!

Golf - Thursday 24th October 2013

Everyone should have noticed the big splash of green

at the 14th bush toilets and the newly gravelled path

which will keep this area neat and tidy and much easier

on the eye than the previous dust bowl. The cost of this

garden to the Golf Club was zero apart from the garden

edges and the roadbase - all the plants used here were

donated by Members or non-members of the club which

goes to show we can make a difference if we really want to.

We had a great day for golf with no rain or wind - it did get a little warm but the early cloud cover was good. My playing partner today was Val Anderson and we had a great day on the village green.  We had some good highlights with Val hitting a sensational drive to the 8th for an easy 2/5 birdie and again Val having a gobbler chip in on the 4th for a 3 pointer.
