We were a busy lot of F-Troopers today as there were many tasks at hand and only 12 workers to spread it through.
We had Duncan Dyer, Geoff Bridge, Rob Benson, Peter Martin, Bruce White, Garry Trigg, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess, Georgina Lamb, Martin Gallagher, Mark Stimpson & Jan Martin.
Duncan, Geoff, Martin, Bruce & Garry did some multi tasking - finishing off the fence maintenance on Racecourse Road, trimming the low tree branches at the 6th tee, removing the stumps from the garden at the 10th tee in preparation for a new garden, trimmed the hedge on the 7th.
Peter & Rob did loose timber & rubbish pickup around the course and cleaned out the drain at the 6th fairway.
Di Beechey & Anne Burgess cleaned up the BBQ area, installed two small ponds in the new garden at the back of the 10th tee & planted in some new plants, watered in the area as well as watering the camellias in Camellia Way.
Georgina helped me in the front gardens where we weeded and trimmed the shrubs which was a harder job than it looked. I transplanted a shrub that was removed from the 10th garden to the 2nd fairway where it matched in with the existing plants and watered some of the gardens at the 1st tee.
The 10th tee garden will be treated with fertilizer and seasol to improve the soil before any new plants go in so it is looking a bit bare at the moment.
Morning tea of Mini Muffins and fruit pastries were very much appreciated as it was a hot day and we had all worked up a thirst and hunger. Thanks Chef John!
The new gardens that we are refreshing are being carefully planned to cope with natural conditions of a golf course and something that will look attractive all year around.
YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
