We had 10 F-Troopers on hand to work on the course today. It was too wet to take out heavy machinery on the course so we worked on jobs that we could do without the need of trailers & tractors.
We had Martin Gallagher, Geoff Bridge, Peter Martin, Jan Martin, Richard Casey, Bruce White, Garry Trigg, Des Wilson, Yvonne Wilson and Anne Burgess to share the load.
Martin, Geoff, Bruce, Garry & Des worked on the area at the 8th clearing low branches and drains & removed fireweed from around the dam at the 13th.
Peter & Richard repaired the dangerous damaged path mat leading to the 1st and 10th tees, repaired a fence post at the putting green and signs in the car park.
Anne Burgess worked on the garden behind the 10th green preparing a place for a new Camellia, placed a protection guard against rabbits around the camellias and helped me to sweep out the practice nets.
Yvonne fertilized and trimmed the gardenias at the putting green & after morning tea went out with Des to weed the gardens at the 14th.
I pruned the roses at the putting green, raked and weeded the putting green path area, tidied up the wedding garden, raked out the practice nets, trimmed the hedge at the front steps, weeded and raked the garden at the 1st tee & picked up some large branches in that area.
Morning tee this morning was some delicious croissants & Jam that we all appreciated. Thanks John!
While browsing at the Reject Shop last week I came across a cup and saucer & watering can that was ideal for the ladies garden at the 13th. I had replaced the broken cup & saucer from the vandal attack with some cheap garden boxes which are now past their use by date. I have been looking for something good for quite some time but have never seen anything that I liked that was cheap enough. I found these when I wasn't looking for them which was a bonus.
We have had some good wood sales from our F-Troop supplies and have enough money now to fund the new garden going in on the 1st tee. A big thank you to all the members who have supported our wood sales as all the profits go towards the beautification of our golf course.
YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
