We were somewhat restricted with what we could do out on the course today because we had a big vets day in progress. We did manage to find more than enough jobs today and fortunately we had some extra volunteers which helped us a lot.
We welcomed Steve McGuckin to his first day as an F-Trooper and we also welcomed back Garry Trigg from his extended overseas trip. Those I saw today were Duncan Dyer, Geoff Bridge, Martin Gallagher, Peter Murphy, Des Wilson, Peter Martin, Steve McGuckin, Garry Trigg, Kerry Cubis, Georgina Lamb & Di Beechey.
Duncan, Geoff, Martin & Peter Murphy spent the morning removing a Camphor Laurel and a dead pine tree from the back of the 10th green. This was not an easy task as the trees were quite large.
Peter Martin, Kerry Cubis, Steve McGuckin & Garry Trigg cleared a drain at the 6th and raked & tidied around the 4th to the 6th fairways including timber & rubbish pickup around the course.
Georgina Lamb, Di Beechey & myself concentrated on the front area of the club & spent all morning tidying, raking, fertilizing, watering, weeding in the area front of the club to the wedding garden and included part clean up of the car park & BBQ garden area, cleaning the front entrance to the clubhouse. It was frustrating work as the leaves were falling down faster than we could clean them up.
Des Wilson was on Pro Shop duty & took care of business there.
It was another successful day for F-Troop even though all the work we did was not too apparent to the eye. We did have some nice compliments from visitors playing on our course today.
Morning tea was supplied by our club chef John & was enjoyed by everyone. Fruit Pastries fresh from the oven went over well. Thanks John!
YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
