We had an excellant turn out of workers for F-Troop this morning. We had 16 helpers in all which was fantastic to see. Those workers included Clyde Cruickshanks, Warren Gray. Martin Gallagher, George Foster, Garry Trigg, John Coddington, Doug Incoll, Des Wilson, Duncan Dyer, Peter Martin, Di Beechey, Neil Hancock, Ray Presdee, Jan Martin, Bruce White and Spencer Walklate.
We got a huge workload done today including tree trimming, path cleaning, fairway raking, fairway leveling, garden watering and a huge collective effort in creating a new hedge along the left side of the first tee. As you can see by the photos - many hands make light work and the new hedge is in place ready to be mulched.
The hedging plants for this first tee garden were donated by Barry Robertson - Thank you Barry!
With help of our volunteer members of F-troop and the generousity of members donating the appropriate plants we can make a big difference to "our course".
If you would like to help us "make a difference" and wish to make a contribution in your own way then please contact Clyde Cruickshanks or myself and we would be more than happy to talk with you.
The board and our club manager Alvin expressed their appreciation to F-Troop today by providing a lovely lunch at the club for all the F-Troop members that could attend. (photo attached)
Next Monday F-Troop will be "ON" again. There is heaps of work to be done including repairing the fairways and raking loose timber. We will be meeting at the greenkeepers shed at 7.30 am. Bring your own rake if you can. New members are very welcome!
The club was a busy place today with social players on the course, seminars & exercise classes in the clubhouse along with a good number of members of the public enjoying lunch. It is good to see the club being fully utilized.
