F-Troop - Monday 14th April 2008

We had another good turn up of volunteers for maintenance work today. Work done included path repairs, trimming, rubbish removal, whipper-snipping, removal of dead tree at the putting green. It is great having someone like Duncan Dyer on side who even brings his own chain saw & ropes.

We had cleaned up around the first tee, raking the grassed areas & sweeping the paths clean when a couple of our "Irish" workers (photo attached) decided to remove the rubbish off the roof of the starters box creating a minefield of debris right where we had just cleaned. Good one guys!
Some more good work done through the week was by Richard & Leonie Casey who have volunteered to look after the front street gardens ( a huge job ). Even just a small amount of tidying up there makes such a difference as it has been overgown for a long time. Well done Richard & Leonie. YES, YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Images attached: Our two "Irish" workers today (Warren & Pete) at the starters box area; photos of the practice putting green garden; the beautiful Tibouchena tree - in full view now that the old dead tree is out of the way; the front street gardens in early stages of maintenance & looking much better already.
