Golf - Friday 8th July 2022

The lads in Scotland - rest day today

Leaving North Berwick for Carnoustie

A good crowd for dinner at Gosford Golf Club tonight

To enjoy some good menu choices, members draw and raffles.

Our table won the table challenge for the most raffle wins 4/3

We enjoyed a beautiful day of sunshine and some cool winds which would have been helpful in drying the course out a bit.

There were no carts allowed on the course today and no carts will be allowed on tomorrow.

Sunday’s forecast is 90 % chance of 5-10 mls and 16 degrees. Hopefully this does not eventuate and our course continues to improve.

The Golf Event of the day was a Medley Single Stableford.

RESULTS:

We had 12 starters.

NEAREST THE PINS:

5TH HOLE: Scott Boden - 760 cms

Golf - Thursday 7th July 2022

Hooray! Some sunshine at last

400 mls of rain has taken its toll on the course - closing the course for todays play. Tomorrow is more encouraging after a reasonable day of sunshine we are looking forward to more golf being available to us. Check the course conditions for tomorrows play.

We are very resilient and will come back from this setback.  The course drainage has been improved and hopefully this will pay off.  The green keepers have a challenge on their hands and we should support them as much as we can by filling divots and careful directions of carts over the fairways and rough.

The lads in Scotland having a great time

Golf - Wednesday 6th July 2022

This was the place to be today - Scotland the brave

Our Gosford lads ready for their first game of golf in Scotland

(Wish we were there)

Meanwhile in beautiful Gosford …… the rain continues to tumble down.

The course was closed today as the course was unplayable.

Tomorrow the weather forecast is more promising but you should check the course conditions in the morning as it is still raining as I write this post.

I understand that we are not on our own. Kooindah Waters is closed indefinitely due to the amount of water on the course.  Also I understand that Magenta Shores have no carts allowed on and Toukley have water problems.  No doubt there are a lot of courses on the Eastern coastline that are suffering the same water problems.

My thanks to Gary Sammons for today’s photo from Scotland.

Golf - Tuesday 5th July 2022

Following consistent rain overnight and a dire daily forecast the course was closed today which was not surprising.

No carts are being allowed on for tomorrow but more rain is forecast so best to check the condition of the course in the morning.

Golf - Monday 4th July 2022

We did see some blue sky and sunshine briefly today but the forecast into tomorrow does not look good with more heavy rain forecast.

There was no competition golf today. Bunkers were GUR and the course was very wet.
