F-Troop Morning Tea - Rob Benson, Steve Hogg, Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Matt Carroll, Kevin O’Brien, Jan Martin, Terry Coyle, John Hollebon, Ron Gowing, Sam Knox (Peter Martin, Don Nicholls and Di Beechey)

How many men does it take to change a light bulb?

With the new wood splitter

Pile of weed removed from the 3rd dam
by F-Trooper Kevin O’Brien

Seat and pots transferred from the 13th Ladies Garden

We had 14 volunteers to work on our projects today and it was good that it was too hot to get things done.

On hand were Trevor Harrison, Duncan Dyer, Sam Knox, Kevin O’Brien, Matt Carroll, Steve Hogg, Rob Benson, Terry Coyle, Don Nicholls, Peter Martin, Ron Gowing, John Hollebon, Di Beechey and Jan Martin.

There was much excitement this morning when our big boys had to open and put together our brand new big toy - a new wood splitter which will be a huge benefit in preparing firewood.  Full credit to the boys - they managed to get it put together with only just a few bits and pieces left over.

Projects worked on today were trimming of the sharp spikey undergrowth on the pine trees on the left hand side of the 18th, loose timber and rubbish pick up around the course, clean up under the clubhouse, 1st and 10th tees, wedding garden and practice nets, trimming and maintenance of hedges and shrubs, watering of gardens near the clubhouse, repair and replacement of water taps, removal of weed from the 3rd tee, cleaning of the bush toilets, mulch onto the greenspace gardens, weeding and watering of the greenspace gardens, tidy up of 6th tranquility garden, watering and fertilising of pots on the 6th tee, bike garden, ladies 9th tee garden, 9th green pot, wedding garden pots, removal of the garden seat from the 13th Ladies Garden to the Ladies 3rd tee, transfer of the pots from the 13th ladies garden to the Ladies 3rd tee.

The Greens Committee have made a decision to remove the Ladies 13th tee garden so the the large tree can be removed and following that,  the soil will be removed and the dam will be widened back to the path edge.  This will allow a much bigger water capacity in the dam.

It is for the greater good of the club so we will recreate a ladies garden in another place yet to be decided. Temporarily the seat and pots have been relocated to the Ladies 3rd tee.

We all deserved our morning tee after a very busy morning.

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
