We had a great day at F-Troop this morning with many projects to keep us occupied.

On hand we had Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Kevin O'Brien, Terry Coyle, Rob Benson, Andy Henebury, John Hollebon, Ron Gowing, Peter Martin, Di Beechey and Jan Martin.

Projects worked on were tree maintenance, rubbish and loose timber pick up around the course, hedge maintenance, cleaning up under the clubhouse, 1st and 10th tees and the Wedding Garden, watering the gardens at the front of the clubhouse, Wedding Garden, Practice green and practice nets, cleaning of the 14th bush toilets and watering of the greenspace gardens, weeding and watering the hedge at the 4th tee, securing of the pot in the tranquility garden at the 6th tee, watering the pots and tidying the tranquility garden at the 6th tee, tidying the ladies 3rd tee and watering the pots, watering the bike garden and the Ladies 9th tee garden, dead heading strelitzia plants at the 15th tee and weeding the gardens.

We had to do a rescue mission to get the Yellow Garden Cart back to the sheds after a malfunction. Hopefully we can find out the problem and get the cart back in action.

We appreciated morning tea today after a hard mornings work.

We had a rather warm day for our golf today on the Village Green saved by the occasional breeze that was very much appreciated. Our playing partners were Carolyn Buttsworth minus Ray Buttsworth who was a bit under the weather with a virus. Carolyn was our Champion today playing excellent golf which gave me some encouragement to lift my game to  almost reach a respectable score. Our best highlights were Carolyn scoring 2 four pointers and Peter having a gobbler on the 10th.

The Golf Event of the day was a Single Stableford for men and Women.

We had 60 starters.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Rhonda Robertson scored a great 43 points getting pars on the 10/11/12/13/15 and 16th holes; Wally Robertson had a 4 pointer on the 11th and enjoyed a nice 39 points; Garry Baillie had a 4 pointer on the 11th; sadly both Garry Baillie and Wally Robertson both wiped the 12th hole; Carolyn Buttsworth had a 4 pointer on the 4th and a 4 pointer on the 16th enjoying 39 points with 2 wipes; Peter Martin had a gobbler on the 10th; Lauren Matterson had a birdie on the 2nd and enjoyed 40 points; Vicki Foster had five 3 pointers on the front 9; Col Matterson sank a 60 foot putt on the 7th (give or take); Tony Starbuck off a handicap of Plus 1 had 6 birdies on the 2/3/5/10/16/18th holes and included a bogy on the 17th; Rosalie Dyer and Lorraine Bignall beat the boys for the Keno Ticket; Lorraine Bignall had a nice 38 points including a birdie at the 8th and winning nearest the pin; Walter Loschi had a birdie on the 2nd; my highlight was playing with Carolyn Buttsworth who inspired me to lift my game on the 2nd 9 bringing me almost to respectable score.

The marking of all the car parking spaces has now been completed.

We started early this morning as the course was going to be full of social
players.

On hand we had 14 volunteers which was great - giving us the opportunity to get some good projects finished. Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Kevin O'Brien, Rob Benson, Terry Coyle, Steve Hogg, Garry Trigg, Andy Henebury, Don Nicholls, Peter Martin, John Hollebon, Ron Gowing, Di Beechey & Jan Martin.

Projects worked on today were completing the marking of all the car spaces in the car parks, painting the gate near the Green Keepers shed, loose timber and rubbish pick up around the course, clean up behind the clubhouse, clean up in front of the clubhouse, BBQ area and Wedding Garden, trimming of the large hedge on the 10th tee, cleaning of the 14th Bush toilets, watering the pots at the 6th, 3rd, bike garden, ladies 9th tee, 9th green, wedding garden, weeding of the tranquility garden at the 6th tee, clubhouse maintenance.

We needed our morning tea to recover from a hard morning's work.

We had just the best day for Sunday Golf leading up to the Christmas break.  The weather was perfect, the course was in great order and we had just the best company with Grant & Kerry Williams, our playing partners today. We had some highlights between us with Grant playing a very steady game, Peter playing some great shots, Kerry & I getting some 3 pointers, the best of which was some good pars from Grant.

The Golf Event of the day was a Single Stableford for Men and Women.

We had 49 starters.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Carolyn Buttsworth scored a great 39 points helped by two 4 pointers - birdies at the 6th and 12th; The Dyer/Asken group reported that the boys beat the girls for the Keno Ticket; Fran James had four 3 pointers in a row at the 10/11/12/and 13th holes; Owen James had a birdie at the 8th; Grant Williams played a very steady game with some great shots to the green and some good pars; Peter Martin had some good chances hitting some good shots to the green; Kerry Williams started off with a couple of 3 pointers and added a couple more later; I had some 3 pointers and finished with the same ball I started with, fortunately avoiding the bunkers and the water hazards.
