More 90th Birthday celebrations photos

We had good member support for the night and it was great to see some old Members return to help  with the celebrations.  It was lovely to see the old faces of retired golfing people who came to support the club on this special occasion.

We have to thank Di Thomlinson for supplying many of her memoirs of the Gosford Golf Club as  the Club's records have disappeared over the years. The memoirs are well worth looking at and will be shown at the club this week for the benefit of those Members who were not able to attend on the night.  I personally enjoyed looking through the old history of the club. We should make an effort to keep all this history intact for future generations to appreciate.

The Club has a great history and is the oldest established Golf Course on the Central Coast.
We have some famous golfers emerge from the Club - Billy Dunk and Marea Parsons (Hickey) being two of them.

I will be including photos of the memorabilia but if you get a chance get up to the clubhouse this week and have a look at the hard copies which are much easier to read.

GOSFORD GOLF CLUB 90TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS

Mark Churcher & Larry Canning

Marea Parsons (Hickey) cutting the Birthday cake

We (the Members and Guests) enjoyed a great night of good food and entertainment during the celebration of the Gosford Golf Club's 90th Birthday Celebrations.

We were offered alternate lamb/chicken main meals, bread rolls, deserts and a birthday cake all beautifully prepared and served by our club staff.

Congratulations to Di Beechey - co-ordinator and to all of our staff on a great effort.

We were entertained by a really good jazz band called the SWINGING PLAYERS who played some good dinner and dance music.

Our speakers for the night were very entertaining.  Mark Churcher kept us very amused with all his stories from the old years. The main speaker for the night was Mark's Brother-in-Law Larry Canning and his memories and quips from Gosford Golf Club and Golf in general raised some good laughs.
