F-Troop - Monday 18th July 2016

F-Troop morning Tea - Duncan Dyer, Don Nicholls, Terry Coyle, 

Trevor Harrison, Anne Burgess, Rob Benson, Jan Martin, Kevin O'Brien, 

Di Beechey, Steve Hogg, Paul Scholberg, Peter Martin, Geoff Bridge.

Garden at the 5th tee trimmed and sprayed.

We had a good number of volunteers for F-Troop work today with me turning up with a late note.

On hand were Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Kevin O'Brien, Geoff Bridge, Steve Hogg, Terry Coyle, Don Nicholls, Peter Martin, Rob Benson, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess and Jan Martin.

Duncan, Trevor, Kevin, Steve and Geoff trimmed trees at the 6th and the 15th.

Rob Benson and Terry Coyle were on pick up duty around the course.

Peter Martin and Don Nicholls worked on plumbing maintenance in the clubhouse and the 14th bush toilets.

Di and Anne worked on the gardens at the clubhouse.

I worked at the 14th bush toilets, sprayed the hedge at the 7th, watered the pots and tidied the 6th tranquility garden, sprayed the Clivias at the 15th and 17th gardens, watered the pots in the wedding gazebo and trimmed back the mandivillea. 

We all appreciated our sumptuous morning tea of savoury breads, iced buns and tarts. Thank you Barto!

Hopefully the early mornings will start to warm up a bit as we head towards Spring!

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Rhonda Robertson had an airswing at the 9th hole; Lyn Bates had a birdie at the 18th, Peter Laybutt had a birdie at the 13th;,Cheryl Davison finished with the same ball she started with; John Slight had an air swing on the 7th; Robyn Johnston was a spectacular player and played well with Nigel Asken; Garry and Kay Baillie had a forgettable 18th hole; Kevin O'Brien and Lorraine Bignall were on the 6th green for 2 and on the 7th green for 2; Leanne Binns putted well; Wally Baillie had a birdie on the 6th and Richard Casey had a birdie on the 8th; LynCruickshank  won all of the three arguements she had with Clyde; Sandra Coyle missed a 4inch putt at the 9th; my highlight was the addition of a brand new granddaughter to our family today!

This was not a highlight for Norma Cubis - but could serve as a warning to all our golfers when faced with a tree in the foreground:

Norma's Ball hit a tree 5 metres in front of her causing two types of pain. One was a two shot penalty and the other was 4 stitches and a broken tooth. Outch! 

Norma tells me the gap was as big as the Harbour Bridge - so I suppose the message is don't be complacent.
