Celebrating our week of Golf at Coolangatta/Tweed Vets Week of Golf.

Hello  from beautiful Tweed Heads.

We had some great results from Gosford this week which will make our Club proud.

Winners during the week were Steve Turner, Geraldine Turner, Sam Knox, Lyn Bates and Carolyn Buttsworth,

Peter and I had a week off golf to rest up for Maclean next week. 

The weather was very kind except for today when there were some unfortunate showers. 

Meanwhile at Gosford….

The weather has continued to be unkind. There were no carts allowed on today.

 The Golf Event of the day was a Medley Single Stableford.

We had 63 starters with 4 visitors from Breakers, Future Gold and Cromer.

RESULTS:

OVER THE FUELD:

WINNER: Daniel Phelps - 41 points

RUNNER UP: David James - 38 points

3RD: Paul Beaven - 37 points on a countback

4TH: Simon Kelly - 37 points on a countback

GROSS WINNER: Dean Stevens - 32

NEAREST THE PINS: 

8TH HOLE: Scott Boden - 205 cms

12TH HOLE: Phil Baker - 572 cms

BALLS WENT TO: 33 points on a countback

MENS SR: 69.9

WOMENS SR: 73.9

Golf - Thursday 7th August 2025

Geraldine Turner and Sam Knox - both scored 39 points today at Coolangatta/Tweed Vets weeks of golf - Day 3

Hello from beautiful Tweed Heads - good day of weather today. Sam and Geraldine were our champions - both playing very well. 

Meanwhile at Gosford…..

 More showers and cold weather have kept the fields down. No carts or trikes allowed on today.

RESULTS:

LADIES 9 HOLE SINGLE STABLEFORD.

We had 3 starters.

WINNER: Kathy Conn - 13 points

WOMENS SR: 37.5

Golf - Wednesday 6th August 3025

 

Dinner at Tweed Heads Bowling Club with a couple of blow ins (Steve and Annette Cross) from Gosford who happen to be holidaying on the coast.

We had a rest day from golf so everyone went their own way to enjoy the beautiful weather. 

Peter had a day of golf with my brother at Tweed Heads but he did not want to discuss the score but had a very enjoyable day in good weather.

Meanwhile at Gosford …..

Another good weather day I believe - but no carts or trikes allowed on the course.

The Golf Events of the day were a Single Stableford + 2Ball Team Multiplier + Ladies Single Stableford.

SINGLE STABLEFORD RESULTS:

We had 127 starters with 5 visitors from Gold Creek, Future Golf, Avalon, Mangrove Mountain and Breakers.

A GRADE:

WINNER: Sam Hatfield - 38 points

RUNNER UP: Jerry Gulpers - 36 points

GROSS WINNER: Sam Hatfield - 36

B GRADE:

WINNER: Paul R Smith - 40 points

RUNNER UP: Blair Glass - 36 points

C GRADE: 

WINNER: Anthony Higgs - 38 points on a countback

RUNNER UP: Wayne Metti - 38 points

We had 2 starters.

Golf - Tuesday 5th August 2025

 

The Gosford crew enjoying dinner at Tweed Heads after golf.

Hello from beautiful Tweed Heads. 

We had a beautiful 23 degree day with no icy winds today.

Our champions on the 2nd day of the Coolangatta/Tweed Heads Vets week were Steve Turner and Carolyn Buttsworth. 

Tomorrow promises to be another good day for our test day from golf. 

Meanwhile at Gosford……

The course was still wet so no carts or trikes were allowed on the course.

The Golf Events of the day were a Ladies Single Stableford + a Ladies 9 Hole Single Stableford.

LADIES SINGLE STABLEFORD RESULTS:

We had 8 starters.

WINNER: Robyn Krahe - 31 points

LADIES SR: 73.0

LADIES 9 HOLE SINGLE STABKEFORD:

We had 3 starters.

WINNER: Marilyn Caruana - 16 points

LADIES SR: 36.5

Golf - Monday 4th August 2025

 Hello from beautiful Tweed Heads.

Our first day of golf at Coolangatta/Tweed Vets Week of Golf.

Our champions today were Sam Knox and Lyn Bates. 

We had a rain free day and it was great to have some sunshine. 

Meanwhile at Gosford there was no competition golf due to course conditions.

Tomorrow the event has been changed for the Ladies from a Single Stroke to a Single Stableford - no carts or trikes allowed on the course.

Golf - Sunday 3rd August 2025

Coolangatta/Tweed Golf Course today

The Gosford crew at Tweed Heads Bowling Club for dinner tonight prior to the start of the Vets Week of Golf tomorrow.

 Hello from beautiful Tweed Heads.

We had some Sunshine and some showers with a very cold wind today. 

The forecast this week is for warmer weather in the next few days which will be good for our golfers. 

Meanwhile at Gosford….

The weather has been consistently wet which has caused the course to be closed (along with other golf clubs on the coast)

Some wind and sunshine would be very welcome.

Golf - Saturday 2nd August 2025

 Hello from beautiful Tweed Heads - we were happy to arrive in sunshine. 

It is still very cool at night but we are hoping for good weather for this weeks golf event at Coolangatta/Tweed. 

Peter and I are not playing in the Vets week of golf event but the rest of our group are.

Meanwhile at Gosford…..

Things do not look good with the course closed after heavy showers and more rain to come. 

We will try and bring the good weather back with us.

Hopefully more results soon.
