Men’s Super Seniors Win - Monday 5th September 2022

Our last match was scheduled to be played at Kooindah Waters but after 40 mls of rain over the weekend Kooindah was considered unplayable. A late change resulted in our match being rescheduled to 2.30 pm at Everglades. We played Shelly Beach and the winner would progress through to the regional finals.

 

It was close all day and with the late time the matches were going to finish inside 18 holes. Our boys rallied late and went on to win 5 ½ to 2 ½ A fantastic result.

 

This year Gosford won 4 of its matches and only lost to Magenta Shores who were undefeated.

Bush Toilets newly painted - now mould free

New toilet seats, new toilet brushes, fresh flowers from our club gardens

Outside of the toilet block will be painted next week

Wet weather has hit us again and we could not take any of our vehicles out on the course. We were able to get our carts out to the 14th Bush Toilets to get our painting done and we got some work done around the clubhouse.

We only had seven volunteers today due to ill health of our members or extended holidays (catching up on  Covid cancelled holidays etc)

On hand we had Duncan Dyer, Kevin O’Brien, Peter Martin, Don Nicholls, Paul Smith, John Hollebon and Jan Martin.

Projects worked on today were cleaning up the drain at the back of the Clubhouse, tidy up of the car parks, hedge maintenance, trimming of shrubs in the front gardens of the clubhouse, painting of the inside of the bush toilets at the 14th, replacement of the toilet seats and toilet brushes, weeding of the gardens at the 14th and fresh cut flowers from our club gardens in the Ladies toilets.

Next week (weather permitting) we will paint the outside of the bush toilets and finish tidying up the gardens there so it will be a welcoming place for the Ladies Open Day on the 13th September.

We are going to be short of F- Troopers over the next few months - so if anyone feels inclined to give us a helping hand that would be great. Meet us at the F-Troop sheds at 7.00am on Monday mornings.

We enjoyed on morning tea of fresh sandwiches and wraps in the sunshine.

Golf - Sunday 4th September 2022

 We had more intermittent showers today to add to the already water logged course so there was no competition golf today 

There are no carts allowed on the course tomorrow.

Golf - Saturday 3rd September 2022

 The weather forecasts were once again accurate and we had rain overnight and during the day. 

We did have some diehards that attempted to play but were beaten by the weather.

Tomorrow there will be no carts allowed on the course and more showers predicted.

It is such a shame as the course was starting to recover from the previous rainfall.

The Late Doug Incoll’s Funeral arrangements

 Doug Incoll’s Funeral will be held at Greenway Chapel on Monday 12th September at 12.00 noon. 

I will keep you posted about the wake arrangements.
