F- Troop Morning Tea - Di Beechey, Jan Martin, Duncan Dyer, Les Wielinga, Kevin O’Brien, Trevor Harrison, Rob Benson, Chris Foster, John Hollebon, Peter Martin, Don Nicholls.

Back of the Clubhouse cleaned up including the drain 

We had a great number of volunteers today especially on a Public Holiday. This was very helpful and allowed us to tackle the back of the clubhouse which had got very overgrown and messy.

On hand we had Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Kevin O’Brien, Les Wielinga, Rob Benson, Chris Foster, John Hollebon, Don Nicholls, Peter Martin, Di Beechey and Jan Martin.

We welcomed back Chris Foster who comes in when ever he has time and he put in some hard yards today on stick and rubbish pick up. 

Projects worked on today were Rubbish and loose timber pick up around the course, clean up at the back of the clubhouse including clearing of the drain, clean up at the 18th tee and Camellia Way, hedge maintenance, cleaning of the bush toilets, tidy up of the 14th Greenspace Garden, tidy up of the 6th Tranquility Garden, clean up at the back of the 6th native garden, start made on weeding the 15th tee garden.

We enjoyed our morning tea after a hard morning’s work and our thanks to Angelique Scholberg for her contributions to our morning tea which was appreciated.

Our playing partners today at the 1st Tee

We had a lovely day on the golf course today with our playing partners Duncan and Rosalie Dyer. The boys beat the girls for the Keno ticket but we gave them a run for their money. It was my first day back at golf for two months after recovering from a carpel tunnel wrist operation. I was a bit rusty as could be expected but getting a 3 pointer on the 1st hole will bring me back next week.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: most of the highlights included playing golf in beautiful weather (especially for Easter weekend) our Ladies Winner Sandra Coyle enjoyed her 36 points playing steady golf; my highlight was getting a 3 pointer on the 1st hole and finishing with the same ball I started with. Nobody else had any highlights for me. The course still has some muddy wet patches after all the rain we have had and the greens are still recovering from recent maintenance so it was a bit of a challenge out there.
