not F-Troopers (yet) but these are some of our special volunteers who are removing nuisance weeds from the fairways.  






 After  al the rain over the weekend we still had a good turn up of volunteers this week.  We had some big projects on and every hand helps.


On hand we had Sam Knox, Duncan Dyer, Kevin O'Brien, Steve Hogg, Trevor Harrison, Don Nicholls, Peter Martin, Terry Coyle, Rob Benson, Ron Gowing, John Hollebon, Andy Henebury, Di Beechey and Jan Martin.

Projects worked on today were tree maintenance at the 12th; loose timber and rubbish pick up around the course, pick up of garden edging materials donated to the club, working at the woodheap, hedge maintenance and tidy up of gardens at the first tee and around the clubhouse, tidy up of paths around the clubhouse, 1st and 10th tees, wedding garden and practice nets, cleaning of the bush toilets and tidy up of the 14th greenspace gardens, planting in of groundcover plants at the 6th native gardens, tidy up of the 6th tranquility garden, planting in of donated bromiliards, tidy up of the ladies 13th tee garden, maintenance in the clubhouse.

We were ready for our sugar hit at morning tea to restore our energy after a hard mornings work.

It was very wet on the course today with recent rains taking its toll.  The weather was all sunshine and blue skies which was a big help towards us enjoying our day on the Village Green.

Our playing partners today were Ray & Carolyn Buttsworth and we enjoyed a lovely day in the sunshine on a somewhat wet Village Green.  They were great company and pity about the golf scores.


The Golf Event of the day was a Single Stableford + 2 Ball Team.

We had 70 starters with 3 visitors from Stonebridge, Kooindah Waters & Wyong.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported tome:

Annette Cross had a nice par on the 18th sinking a long putt; Steven Cross parred the 18th hole and had some nice 3 pointers; Leonie Kelly parred the 8th; Rosalie Dyer parred the 5th; Clyde Cruickshanks had birdies at the 2/10/14th holes and won nearest the pin  on the 14th; Kevin O'Brien birdies the 15th; Tania Walklate had two 4 pointers; Russell Willings had a birdie on the 11th; Melanie Forster parred the 4th; Steve Turner scored one point at the 9th after a series of wipes on that hole; Sandra Coyle finished 18 holes today and enjoyed the day; Kay Baillie hit the 100 metre post on the 1st and and the ball finished back at her feet; LOrraine Bignall had a birdie on the 11th; Cheryl Davidson scored 20 points on the front 9; Col Matterson had a birdie on the 4th; Ron Puiatti had a birdie on the 2nd and the 10th; Don Bush had 3/4on the 8th; Carolyn Buttsworth had 4 x 3 pointers; Ray Buttsworth outdrove Peter Martin on the 17th; my highlight was having one 4 pointer and a couple of 3 pointers and finishing with the same ball I started with.

We had a chilly start to our morning today but that did not deter our F-Troopers.

On hand we had 14 volunteers on hand which allowed us to get a good move on with our projects.

Volunteers this morning were Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Kevin O'Brien, Sam Knox, Steve Hogg, Terry Coyle, Rob Benson, John Hollebon, Peter Martin, Don Nicholls, Andy Henebury, Ron Gowing, Di Beechey & Jan Martin.

Projects worked on today were tree maintenance, Hedge Maintenance, Loose tiimber and rubbish pick up around the course,  Tidy up around the clubhouse, BBQ area, 1st and 10th tees, wedding garden and practice nets, trimming shrubs, pruning roses, cleaning of the bush toilets and garden tidy up at the 14th green space, tidy up of the 6th tranquility garden, maintenance of clubhouse items, delivery of firewood, preparation of firewood.

The course was very busy today with Vets players but we managed to work around them.

Morning tea in the sunshine of our courtyard was very welcome this morning.
