We were all very busy bees today looking after our many varied projects today.

On hand we had Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Kevin O'Brien, Rob Benson, Geoff Bridge, John Hollebon, Don Nicholls, Peter Martin, Ron Gowing, Di Beechey and Jan Martin.

The course was busy with a District Ladies Match so we had to work our way around the course carefully.

Projects worked on today were maintenance to the 2nd Green gardens including removal of some of the Camphor Laurel trees, watering and planting in of new camellia bushes, maintenance to the 2nd tee gardens including dead heading of the strelitzia plants, tidy up of the 1st and 10th tees, planting in of new succulent plants (donated by Ron Gowing) in pots at the Xanadu garden to enhance that area, pick up of loose timber and rubbish around the course, planting in of agapanthus donated by Duncan Dyer,at the BBQ garden and watering the gardens there, planting in of Flax plants at the 14th greenspace (plants donated by Ron Gowing), cleaning of the bush toilets and watering the gardens in the greenspace, watering and fertilizing the orange trumpet flowers at the 14th tee, tidy up of the tranquility garden at the 6th tee and watering the pots there, watering and fertilizing the bike garden, 9th Ladies tee garden and the 9th potted Mandevillas, watered the Xanadu garden, 1st and 10th gardens and the red hedge at the 10th, erected a new notice board in the Pro Shop, watered the 4th tee hedge.

We were all ready for morning tea break and appreciated our spread of savoury breads, iced buns and donuts - Thank You Barto!

We had a most beautiful weather day for golf enjoying blue sky and sunshine along with the good company of Di Beechey and Kevin O'Brien. We did have some good highlights, the best of which was a birdie from Peter on the 16th and a 4/4 from Di on the 13th. The girls beat the boys for the Keno Ticket. 

The Golf Event of the day was a Single Stableford for Men and Women + 2 Ball Mixed Team.

We had 75 starters with 4 visitors from Shelly Beach, Forster/Tuncurry, Wyong.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Di Beechey had 4/4 on the 13th; Peter Martin had a birdie on the 16th; Kevin O'Brien scored 20 points on the front 9; Fran James had seven 3 pointers which included 10 good long putts - scoring 19/20; Alan Wilks had a nice 38 points, Norma Wilks played well for 35 points; Clyde Cruickshanks had a birdie on the 18th; Peter Laybutt had a nice par on the 7th; Lyn Cruickshanks had a sandy 5/4 on the 18th; Sandy Laybutt had a birdie on the 11th; Sandra Coyle had a birdie on the 5th; Col Matterson had a birdie on the 2nd; Lauren Matterson finished with the same ball she started with after it was fished out of the dam; Cruz Pappalardo had a birdie on the 15th; Linkon Pappalardo had 5/3 on the 9th; Rosalie Dyer had 4/4 at the 3rd; Alice Diamond had 36 points at the 17th hole; Sheena Asken had birdies at the 8th and the 18th; Nigel Asken had a birdie at the 18th; Vicki Foster had a birdie at the 12th, George Foster had a birdie at the 11th; Jan Walker had 4/3 on the 1st and parred the 12th and 18th; Neville Walker had some good 3 pointers; Dick Bosley had 2/5 at the 8th; Spencer Walklate was on the green for one at the 12th; Brent Frewin had two birdies; Ian & Lynda Hartley enjoyed their day back at Gosford after time away overseas; Kathy Small had a nice 39 points after having time away on holidays; Darren Blackwood (Tuncurry/Forster} had 4 x 4 pointers; Jason Ditton (Tuncurry/Forster) had a birdie chip in on the 1st; Julie Hazzard had 5/4 on the 10th; John Hazzard played a nice steady game, my highlight was 4/3 on the 15th; and saving the best for last - Mark Stimpson (still suffering from jetlag) hit his drive from the 10th into the dam, dropped a second ball and topped that back into the dam, he dropped another ball and played on until he reached the 18th fairway where he put another ball back into the same dam where his other three balls lay (two of them new balls) having put 4 balls into the same dam. Mark cannot remember the last time he was ever in this dam - but I think he will remember this one. 

JUNIOR HIGHLIGHTS:

Cruz Pappalardo had a birdie on the 15th for 3/5

Linkon Pappalardo had 5/3 on the 9th

Alisha Hams had a couple of 4/3's on the par 3's.
