Srixon Sub Junior Classic update - day 2 Wednesday 5th October 2016

Round two has been completed and Riley Millers has had another good round. He shot 90 off the stick for a nett 61. In his age division he is leading the Nett score at 17 under par with the nearest rival at 3 under. In the stroke event he is currently 14th out of 20. We wish Riley all the best in the next two rounds

Srixon Sub Junior Classic Update - Tuesday 4th October 2016

Day one has just been completed and Riley Millers representing Gosford Golf Club shot a 95 off the stick for a net 65. He is competing in the under 12 age group even though he is only ten and is currently leading his age division. He is currently in a tie for 66th over a field of 75 juniors all age. The event is being played at Stone Cutters Ridge Course at Cessnock and is over four days. We wish Riley all the success in the upcoming rounds.

The Golf Event of the day was a Single Stableford Medley for Men and Women.

We had 55 starters with 7 visitors from Everglades, Forster, Tuncurry, Kooindah and Shelly Beach.

F-Troop - Monday 3rd October 2016


F-Troop Morning Tea - Peter Martin, Di Beechey, Geoff Bridge, John Hollebon, Rob Benson, Duncan Dyer, Jan Martin

Being a public Holiday we were down to a skeleton group of die hard volunteers to help with the clean up after the big winds.

On hand were Duncan Dyer, Geoff Bridge, Rob Benson, John Hollebon, Peter Martin, Di Beechey and Jan Martin.

Our biggest project of the day was loose timber and rubbish pick up after the high winds of last week. We also took care of some more firewood preparation, clean up of the back of the clubhouse, 1st and 10th tees tidy up, loose timber and rubbish pick up around the course, trimming of shrubs, tidy up of garden on the 2nd green, cleaning of the bush toilets, tidy up of the green space gardens at the 14th, watering the pots at the 6th tee, tidy up of the 6th tranquility garden, tidy up the golf shoe garden at the 4th, tidy the ladies 3rd tee, watered the bike garden, watered the ladies 9th tee garden, watered the pots at the 9th green, watered the pots in the wedding gazebo, sprayed some trees at the 18th, tidied the dog leg garden at the 17th, 

We enjoyed our morning tea with cakes after working hard against the wind.

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Our playing partners were Neville and Jan Walker and we enjoyed our day having some good highlights along the way the best of which was Peter's birdie on the first hole and a 4 pointer for Jan Walker on the 3rd.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Peter Martin had a birdie on the 1st; Jan Walker had a 4 pointer on the 3rd and another 7 three pointers; Neville Walker had 3 pointers on the 17,16,14 and 7th; Clyde Cruickshanks had a birdie on the 16th; Annie Brink won nearer the pin on the 8th; Col Matterson had birdies on the 4th and 18th; Cheryl Davison had two 4 pointers and did not get into trouble to score a nice 42 points; Robin Incoll played steady golf for her 40 points; Doug Incoll had three 3 pointers; David Small got Peter Martin's $1 and had a birdie 3/4 at the 6th; Kathy Small had a nice 40 points; George Foster had a birdie on the 10th and followed that up with pars on the next 5 holes turning with 23 points with a wipe, finishing with a nice 40 points; Vicki Foster played a steady game for her 33 points; the highlight for the Puiatti/Roberston was the boys won the keno ticket; Duncan Dyer's shot of the day was out of the 16th bunker into the Narara Creek after some failed attempts to get out of the bunker; Rosalie Dyer had birdies at the 5th and the 11th and boys were dormy 6 for the Keno ticket; Kay Baillie parred the 12th and 8th; Fran James chipped in for 4/4 at the 7th and had a nice 37 points after 2 wipes; Sally Hopkins enjoyed good company; Tania Walklate had a gobbler 4 pointer at the 2nd; Lorraine Bignall had a 4/4 at the 13th; my highlight was finishing with the same ball I started with.
