Everyone went way out today to celebrate St Patrick's Day as you can see by the photos - everyone looked great in green. I did not play today as I had other priorities but made it in time for the all important presentation.

Golf - Tuesday 4th March 2008

Another great day for golf - just enough breeze to keep it pleasant. I had very good company today with my playing partners Pam Witt & Priscilla Webster as we battled through the dreaded par match. We did have a few highlights along the way but I seemed to spend an awful lot of time in the 'rough' today making it very hard for myself to score.

The match today was a single par. We had 85 starters including two visitors.

RESULTS:

DIVISION 1:

Winner: Norma Cubis - minus 3 on a C/B
Runner up: Jackie Davidson - minus 3 on a C/B
3rd: Rosalie Dyer - minus 3 on a C/B

DIVISION 2:

Winner: Kath Small - plus 6
Runner up: Julie Craig - plus 2
3rd: Judith Ruitenberg - plus 1

DIVISION 3:

Winner: Carmen Fitzgerald - square
Runner up: Jan Walker - minus 1
3rd: June Bowen - minus 2 on a C/B

Nearest the pins:

Division 1 : 8th hole - Robyn Johnston; 14th hole - Jackie Davidson
Division 2 : 8th hole - Pam Bourne; 14th hole - Frances Maclean
Division 3 : No winners

CCR: Square

Balls went to minus 3 on a countback.

Highlights of the day as reported to me: Rosalie Dyer had a gobbler on the 10th to score a plus; Carmen Fitzgerald had a gobbler on the 15th; Jan Walker had two gobblers - one on the 1st to par the hole and one on the 5th; for me the highlight of my day was scoring a plus on the 2B 3 par (after putting it into the water last week).

They say all things come in threes...Pam Cowin today broke her buggy; had her water retriever fall apart & dropped her watch & broke it - all before the first hole. A good start to the day one could say.

Images attached : With my playing partners Pam Witt & Priscilla Webster; Norma Cubis - winner of Division 1 with President Ronda Jordon; Kath Small - winner of Division 2 with president Ronda Jordon; Carmen Fitzgerald - winner of Division 3 with President - Ronda Jordon.

Golf - Tuesday 26th February 2008

Another lovely day for golf & the course is so much better in a drier condition. The F-Troop have been hard at work trimming back the 'rough' which makes such a lot of difference to the game with wasted time looking for balls. Thanks F-Troop!

My playing partners today were Jan Fitzgerald & Pam Cowin & we had some fun out there and had some good highlights during the day - mostly from Jan & Pam. My contributions were very brief however a three pointer on the thirteenth was good & probably the only thing worth mentioning from my play. Jan & Pam played some nice steady holes & scored some good three pointers along the way.

The match today was a single stableford competition and we had 78 starters.

RESULTS:

DIVISION 1. : Winner: Rosalie Dyer 34 points
Runner Up: Anne Burgess 33 points on a C/B

DIVISION 2. : Winner: Anne Burke 38 points
Runner Up: Fran Maclean 36 points
3rd: Kath Small 36 points
4th: Julie Craig 35 points

DIVISION 3.: Winner: Jan Walker 40 points
Runner Up: Carol Farrell 37 points

NEAREST THE PINS: : 8th 14th
Division 1. Anne Burgess Fay Bailey
Division 2. Lyn Bates Faye Levenspiel
Division 3. Pricilla Webster Leanne Moore

CCR: 70 Balls went to 31 points on a countback.

I was busy with my laptop computer today organising a golf tour to Tasmania so I did not have time to gather all the "highlights" news - sorry about that. I am sure there were a lot of highlights out there worth mentioning by some of the good scores that came in.

Images attached: With my playing partners Pam Cowin & Jan Fitzgerald; Rosalie Dyer winner of Division 1 today.

Golf - Tuesday 29th January 2008

Today was the last day of the Summer Competition and a summer's day it was. There was no breeze and a lot of humidity - it was just like playing in a sauna. There were quite a few of the girls that did not make the distance.

The event was a single stableford. We had 79 starters and some good scores so the heat did not bother everybody.

My playing partners today were Elena Whale, June Bowen & Carol Farrell. The rough is so long on the course now that we seemed to spend more time looking for balls than hitting them.

RESULTS:

Winner : Yvonne Bean 38 points (C/B)
2nd: Julie Craig 38 points
3rd: Glennis English 36 points (C/B)
4th: Mary Ellis 36 points
5th: Margaret Mackie 35 points (C/B)
6th: Annette Dunk 35 points (C/B)
7th: Dordie Bragg 35 points (C/B)
8th: Rhonda Robertson 35 points
9th: Faye Levenspiel 34 points
10th: Trish Goulding 33 points (C/B)
11th: Carmen Fitzgerald 33 points (C/B)
12th: Lyn Douglas 33 points (C/B)
13th: Jan Fitzgerald 33 points

CCR: 73 (36 points)

Balls went to 31 on a countback.
