We had a beautiful weather day for the  Richard Casey Memorial Day which was very well supported.

The course was busy with happy golfers who all enjoyed the day to celebrate the memory of Richard Casey.

The course was busy with the Richard Casey Memorial Day being played today. 

We worked our way around the golfers to get as much of the loose timber and rubbish pick up done as the recent wind has caused havoc with fallen branches around the course.

On hand we had Trevor Harrison, Duncan Dyer, Kevin O’Brien, Ray Cheal, David Medcalf, Frank Potter, Don Nicholls, Peter Martin, Leeanne Binns, Lyn Bates, Laurelle Freeman and Jan Martin. 

Projects worked on today were Loose Timber and rubbish pick up around the course, chain sawing up large fallen branches and removing them from the course; restoring large pot near the practice green that had blown over in the wind storm; cleaning the bush toilets and watering the gardens there including picking up fallen branches; watering pots at the 6th tee; trimming the lavenders at the 1st tee; trimming lavenders at the 16th tee; refreshing the gardens at the 5th tee with new plants; wiring up a large stag horn at the 3rd tee that had fallen out of the tree at the 2nd green fence garden.

Our thanks and appreciation to Sandra Coyle for her donation of plants for our gardens.

We put in a huge morning on the course this today so morning tea of fresh sandwiches was really appreciated.

Morning Tea of fresh sandwiches was very much appreciated after a hard mornings work.

We had a very successful day for our projects today on the course with 15 volunteers to help.

On hand we had Sam Knox, Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Kevin O’Brien, John Hincksman, Rob Benson, David Medcalf, John Hollebon, Frank Potter, Bev Way,  Laurelle Freeman, Carolyn Buttsworth, Lyn Bates, Leeanne Binns, Jan Martin.

The course was busy with a Charity Day in aid of Family of League. We managed to work around the action and get some good work done, I was very proud of our Ladies contribution today covering gardens throughout the course where we weeded, watered and tidied up a lot of the gardens making such a huge difference. Thank you girls!

Projects worked on today were Loose Timber and rubbish pick up around the course; blowing of the front car park; firewood preparation; hedge maintenance; cleaning of the bush toilets; clearing of weeds from the 10th dam; filling in damaged areas of the fairways; mowing at the 17th/18th pathway; potting up 30+ yesterday today and tomorrow plants from the 6th Native Garden in anticipation of the garden being removed and placing the pots at the 14th gardens where they can be watered regularly; finishing off the 7th Tee Garden mulching and weeding; weeding of the 6th Native garden; tidy up of the 18th tee garden; Weeding and trimming of the oleanders at the Men’s 3rd Tee Garden; weeding and tidying up garden at the Ladies 3rd Tee Garden; tidying up the 2nd green garden and watering new plants; trimming back the damaged hedge at the club entrance.

The course was busy with Vets and competition players today but we managed to work around them.

Projects worked on today were cutting up the remains of the big tree taken down at the 1st Tee; trimming the tree fern at the back of the 10th tee; firewood preparation and loading of firewood for delivery; hedge maintenance; pick up of loose timber and rubbish from around the course; painting F-Troop equipment; cleaning of the bush toilets and tidy up of the paths and gardens there; weeding and watering the plants at the 6th tranquility garden; tidy up of the gardens at the 7th Tee; tidy up of the front street gardens.

We had a staggered morning tea today with some of us having to leave early. We enjoyed morning tea of fresh sandwiches.

Hedge enhancement at the 7th tee by F-Trooper John Hollebon

New pot and plant at the 6th Tranquility Garden. 

(This is our 4th attempt at pots here - hopefully this one will last the distance)

30 degrees today so we were happy to get our projects done early before the heat hit. 

On hand we had Sam Knox, Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Kevin O’Brien, John Hincksman, David Medcalf, John Hollebon, Frank Potter, Don Nicholls, Peter Martin, Leeanne Binns, Carolyn Buttsworth, Lyn Bates and Jan Martin.

Projects worked on today were loose timber and rubbish removal around the course; Firewood preparation; completion of the hedge enhancement at the 7th tee; weeding and mulching of the 7th tee garden; cleaning of the 14th bush toilets, replacing the potted plant on the 6th Tranquility garden and weeding there; repairs to divots in the fairways; work done on the 12th green gardens. 

Morning tea was much appreciated by our workers today after a testing morning in the heat.
