Hello from beautiful Scott’s Head.  Today we played golf at Nambucca Heads.Island Course. Our playing partners were Geoff and Sue Brooks (new members at Nambucca having just moved from Lithgow). We had a very enjoyable day on the course fighting off a bit of blustery wind. My highlight     was scoring 3/4 on the 18th and getting out of all my 3 bunker shots in one. Peter played well parring all the par 3’s. Geoff chipped in two holes and had 2 birdies. Sue, playing off a handicap of 9 played some great shots.

We were out in force today with our volunteer work also supported by extra members offering their time to remove nuisance grasses from our fairways.

F-Troopers on hand were Duncan Dyer, Sam Knox, Kevin O’Brien, Nigel Asken, Trevor Harrison, Steve Hogg, Rob Benson, Terry Coyle, Ron Gowing, Peter Martin, Don Nicholls, Di Beechey, Jan Martin.

On hand for nuisance weed removal was Michael Crookes, Tony Callaghan and Greg Skilbeck.

16 volunteers all up - great effort team!

Projects worked on today were removal of nuisance weeds on the fairways, removal of nuisance weed in the dams, pick up of loose timber and rubbish from around the course, removal of camphor Laurel re-shooting and tree maintenance around the course, tidy up of wedding garden, replacement of hedge plants at the Wedding Garden,watering of the gardens at the practice green gardens and wedding garden, tidy up of 7th tee, trimming strelitzia plants at the 15th and lavenders at the 16th, tidy up around the clubhouse, cleaning of the bush toilets, mulching the green space gardens, clearing weeds from the drain at the 14th, watering green space gardens, tidy 6th tranquility garden, watering the pots at the 6th tee, bike garden, 9th ladies tee, 9th green and the Wedding Garden.

Our morning tea was very welcome as we all put in a good morning’s work.
