We had a great day at F-Troop today with eleven volunteers which allowed us to get some good projects done.
On hand we had Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Geoff Bridge, Garry Trigg, Rob Benson, Peter Martin, Warren Gray, Don Nicholls, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess and Jan Martin.
The Tree gang got some good work done taking down an old tree at the 11th tee, pushed back rubbish from the left hand side of the 18th Fairway and did some undercutting of the trees on the 11th.
Rob Benson & Warren Gray removed three trailer loads of rubbish from the course.
Peter Martin & Don Nicholls picked up three plus trailer loads of rubbish from the course and watered some of the gardens.
Anne Burgess cleaned up at the 10th Tee garden and the BBQ area.
Di Beechey cleaned up the car park and the front of the clubhouse, watered the gardens and cleaned up at the putting green and Wedding Garden Area as well as helping me with the trimming of the yellow hedge at the 10th.
I cleaned up and watered at the Bush Toilet area including planting in of some baby Agavi plants in the greenspace garden, watered the orange trumpet vines at the 14th tee, fertilized all of the orchid plants, finished trimming the yellow hedge at the 10th Tee, watered the red hedge garden, fertilised some of the gardenias and the potted plants in the Wedding Garden area.
Morning Tea of iced buns was very much appreciated after a hard mornings work. Thank you Chef Alice!
After morning tea it was all hands on deck to help replant the ficus trees into the new pots at the Wedding Garden. This was a test of strength for the F-Troopers as the pots were very heavy and so were the shrubs. The F-Troopers did a grand job and the pots look fantastic. Many thanks to our supporting Members and the F-Troopers for making this kind of improvement possible.
YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
