The course was still wet today after recent rain and it was busy with Vets Players but we still managed to get some good work done.
We had 8 volunteers today with two of our regulars away on extended leave.
On hand we had Trevor Harrison, Kevin O’Brien, Paul Smith, Steve Robinson, Ron Gowing, Don Nicholls, Peter Martin and Jan Martin.
Projects worked on today were rubbish and loose timber pick up around the course and car park, rake and clean up the 8th and 18th tees, Clean up around the clubhouse, paths to the 1st and 10th tees and practice nets, plumbing repairs to the MENS toilet at tge bush toilets, cleaning of the bush toilets, tidy up the 6th tranquility garden, and continued clean up of the 14th greenspace gardens.
Morning tea after a hard mornings work was appreciated.

Sadly for our boys today the matches were called off when the opposition got 4 1/2 wins - so we lost.

Today we travelled to Castle Hill Country Club to play Monash in the second round of the Regional Finals. What a great course and fantastic weather. The course was in top condition and I understand it hasn’t received as much rain as many other courses in the area. If you ever get the chance to play there don’t miss the opportunity.
Our boys played strong and were in the contest for much of the day. Monash lifted their game to new heights on the back nine and once they got to 4 ½ wins the match was called.
Well done to the boys for a great year and thanks for your support. Special thanks to Paul Edwards and George Lee who stepped up when we needed them. Also Martin Gallagher and his committee who can be extremely proud of this event.
I look forward to next year and hope to get a few games myself.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: I had no reports today but I know that Leonie Kelly and Marianne Lanham played well to win the 2BBB Team, Michael Cheetham played well with some great pars, my highlights were finishing with the same ball I started with, not having any air swings after an extended six months or so off of playing golf, so overall after having some very shabby putting I played to my expectations - so from here it is onwards and upwards. I must say it was good to have some run on the course - so I have higher expectations for next week. (please no more rain)
