Being a Public Holiday our team of F-Troopers were reduced, however we were able to get our work done before it got too hot.

Projects worked on today was loose timber and rubbish removal, firewood preparation, tidy up of the 18th tee area, weed removal in gardens at the 1st and 10th tees and tidy up around the clubhouse, cleaning of the bush toilets, removal of weed from the 13th dam, weeding and tidy up of the hedge at the 4th Tee.

Morning tea was appreciated after a heavy load of work.

The hot weather arrived with a vengeance today with just the smallest of breezes to give us some relief.

Out playing partners were Ray and Carolyn Buttsworth who were great company. Highlights were few and far between but Ray was our best player scoring 4 nice pars on the day, the girls were beaten by the boys for the Keno Ticket on the 18th hole where Ray scored one of his aforesaid pars for a 3 pointer.

We were lucky to get in our Mixed Foursomes Championships with only the lightest of occasional showers - otherwise a perfect day for golf.

Our playing partners were Owen and Fran James, Kim Cardiff and Terry Connor who were great company. We had some laughs, good golf and not so good golf as happens in foursome events.

A great day was enjoyed by all of the Ladies on our Christmas Closing Day. Everyone joined in the spirit of Christmas and got right behind the Ladies Committee who have worked so hard to make this day happen. 

A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to all of the Ladies Committee, social committee and supporting workers.

My playing partners today were Debbie Cox, Betty Shields and Pia Mylan who were rookies and I must say out-played me all day. We had some good highlights throughout the day getting some good pars and a birdie - the best highlight was Betty’s drive at the 14th that went so close to the hole it could easily have dropped in.

The Golf Event of the day was an Ambrose.
