It is Lavender time - and the bees are loving it!
This not vandal damage in the 10th garden
I had an argument with the birdbath and the birdbath won!
No real damage done other than a bruised leg and ego 😢
I was pinned under the birdbath until a golfer on the 1st Tee
lifted the stone off my leg.
Japanese Elm on the 6th Tee
This does not look like a dead or dying tree to me.
Fresh shoots are emerging everywhere
I will give you advanced notice that we will need to remove the
very low new branches that are now emerging to allow for the green
staff machines and golf carts to go underneath. Advanced notice may avoid
more mass hysteria when the time comes for their removal.
We had another very productive day for F-Troop today especially while having the course very busy with Vets players. We had 13 volunteers which was a big help to share the load.
On hand we had Trevor Harrison, Duncan Dyer, Kevin O'Brien, Garry Trigg, Steve Hogg, Andy Henebury, John Hollebon, Ron Gowing, Rob Benson, Terry Coyle, Peter Martin, Don Nicholls and Jan Martin.
Projects worked on today were Loose Timber and Rubbish pick up around the course, undercutting of trees around the course, preparation of firewood timber, delivery of firewood, painting of the pots in the Xanadu Garden, hedging the 18th tee hedge, tidy up of the garden on the 2nd tee, clean up of the clubhouse, 1st and 10th tees paths, watering the 13th Ladies Garden and the 12th green gardens and hedge, watering the pots at the 6th tee, tidying the 6th tranquility garden, tidying the Ladies 3rd tee garden and steps, watering the bike garden, tidying up the shoe garden at the 4th green and adding more plants, watering the ladies 9th tee garden, cleaning the bush toilets, watering the greenspace gardens at the 14th, watering the red hedge at the 10th and trimming the plants, watering the 1st and 10th gardens, watering the Xanadu Gardens, watering the hedge at the 4th tee and attempting to prepare the birdbath at the 10th tee for a future project.
