We had a great day for F-Troop work this morning - after a chilly start the day warmed to fine and sunny.
We had 10 volunteers today which gave us enough workers to get some good projects done.
On hand we had Duncan Dyer, Geoff Bridge, Rob Benson, Warren Gray, Garry Trigg, Peter Martin, Trevor Harrison, Don Nicholls, Di Beechey and Jan Martin.
Duncan, Geoff, Rob, Warren & Garry formed the tree gang and took care of the cutting down & removal of two big dead pine trees at the 13th.
Peter, Trevor & Don were kept busy with projects - replacing a rotten support board at the BBQ area; trimming the hedges at the 10th tee; trimming the tree at the 10th tee, adding lattice to the garden arbor at the 14th tee & planting in a climbing vine to create some shade to the area; picked up rubbish from around the course. Peter also repaired a paper holder in the Men's toilet in the clubhouse.
Di was busy cleaning up the car park and underneath the clubhouse, assisted us to clean up at the 1st and 10th tees; weeded the garden at the 2nd, cleaned up the tees at the 3rd & 5th; watered plants & raked up untidy areas around the course.
I took a while to get moving after having a couple of weeks off. I managed to help clean up at the 1st and 10th tees; planted out two mother-in-law tongues donated to us by Don Nicholls; weeded & tidied the garden at the 2nd Ladies tee; cleaned the bush toilets and watered the gardens in that area; helped Di at the 3rd & 5th tees; watered the gardens at the 1st & 10th; re-filled the water feature & tidied that garden; tidied up at the back of the 1st tee; tidied up at the putting green; filled the bird baths; tidied the practice nets; watered the pots in the wedding garden area and our nursery area..
We welcomed morning tea after working hard all morning - mini cake slices - Thanks Chef John!
The garden arbor at the 14th is starting to take shape with some lattice added to guide our climbing plant to the top to create some shade in that area. We are going to remove the two potted plants to a happier home and move the seat back so that it is further under the shade.
YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
