valuable player on the field by the opposing

We have experienced some really bad golfing weather over the last two days with rain & wind that has caused damage to the course and made for unpleasant conditions on the course.
Our playing partners were Doug & Robin Incoll who were great company but the cold weather really bit through all of our protective gear (I had on four layers of clothes and was still freezing). We did have some highlights in our golf with an almost birdie from Peter and some good 3 pointers.
The Golf Event of the day was a Single Stableford + 2 Ball Team Mixed Men and Ladies.
We had 42 starters

MIXED: Brent Frewin & Anne Forrester - 48 points
LADIES: Julie Hazzard & Leonie Casey - 43 points on a countback

my highlight was winning a ball and getting back inside the clubhouse out of the bitterly cold wind.
Other highlights:
Col Kelly and Alice Diamond are holidaying in (beautiful one day and perfect the next) Queensland and today played a game at Mossman Golf Course playing with 2 other locals in an Ambrose Lions Charity Day. They had a team score of 62 nett 53 and their trophy was 2 rounds of golf at "Sea Temple" ( worth $135 per round). The team had 10 birdies combined. Congratulations to Col & Alice. (Photo attached)
Big Congratulations to John & Julie Hazzard who's grandson Alex Johnstone played in the Australian Schoolboys 2012 side against Great Britain and was voted by the Great Britain Side at the Australian most valuable player of the series. Australia and Great Britain played at Canberra last Sunday and the Australian side won 41 to 10. Australia played Great Britain again at Brisbane on Saturday and won 40 to 4. Alex scored an 80 metre try in that match. (There were two all in brawls during the matches)
Well done Alex! I am sure we will be hearing more about your achievements in the future.(photo attached)
