Golden Oldies Luncheon - Monday 25th August 2025

 



We had a lovely luncheon today organised by Paula Drew celebrating our good times with Gosford Golf Club.

We had eleven volunteers this morning to clean up after the big wet.

On hand we had Sam Knox, Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Kevin O’Brien, Rob Benson, David Medcalf, John Hollebon, Laurelle Freeman, Carolyn Buttsworth, Lyn Bates and Jan Martin.

Projects worked on today were rubbish and loose timber pick up around the course; hedge maintenance; timber removal from the wood yard to the storage compound; garden maintenance at the front of the Clubhouse; tidy up of the Ladies garden at the 2nd tee. 

No carts were allowed on the course so we were restricted as to what gardens we worked on.

We enjoyed morning tea of fresh sandwiches and wraps. Peter Martin and Don Nicholls put in a cameo appearance joining us for morning tea.

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

 Hello from beautiful Tweed Heads.

Our first day of golf at Coolangatta/Tweed Vets Week of Golf.

Our champions today were Sam Knox and Lyn Bates. 

We had a rain free day and it was great to have some sunshine. 

Meanwhile at Gosford there was no competition golf due to course conditions.

Tomorrow the event has been changed for the Ladies from a Single Stroke to a Single Stableford - no carts or trikes allowed on the course.

Coolangatta/Tweed Golf Course today


The Gosford crew at Tweed Heads Bowling Club for dinner tonight prior to the start of the Vets Week of Golf tomorrow.


 Hello from beautiful Tweed Heads.

We had some Sunshine and some showers with a very cold wind today. 

The forecast this week is for warmer weather in the next few days which will be good for our golfers. 

Meanwhile at Gosford….

The weather has been consistently wet which has caused the course to be closed (along with other golf clubs on the coast)

Some wind and sunshine would be very welcome.

Golf - Saturday 2nd August 2025

 Hello from beautiful Tweed Heads - we were happy to arrive in sunshine. 

It is still very cool at night but we are hoping for good weather for this weeks golf event at Coolangatta/Tweed. 

Peter and I are not playing in the Vets week of golf event but the rest of our group are.

Meanwhile at Gosford…..

Things do not look good with the course closed after heavy showers and more rain to come. 

We will try and bring the good weather back with us.

Hopefully more results soon.
