Cleaning out the drain between the 6th fairway and the creek.
We arrived early today to beat the heat as we had some important projects to be done.
On hand we had 11 volunteers - Duncan Dyer, Kevin O’Brien, Rob Benson, Steve Robinson, Don Nicholls, Peter Martin, Nigel Asken, John Hollebon, Howard Ainsley, Di Beechey and Jan Martin which was a good effort for a long weekend.
Projects worked on today were preparation for clearing of gutter on the school side, clean up, weeding and trimming of the huge garden on the front street, removal of weed from the dams, tidy up of the car park, watering plants at the 18th, treatment and control of weeds at the Wedding Garden, clean out of the drain from the 6th fairway to the creek, pick up of loose timber and rubbish around the course, cleaning of the bush toilets, planting in of approximately 50 black panther agapanthus plants donated by Marianne Lanham at the bush toilet gardens, watering of the green space gardens at the bush toilets, weed control and treatment at the pathways at the bush toilets, tidy up of the 6th tranquility garden and watering of the pots at the 6th.
We were ready for morning tea after a huge morning working on our projects. We welcomed Howard Ainsley as a volunteer who worked on the front street garden today. Kevin O’Brien has created a future project of retrieving the anchor from the dam that we need to remove weeds. Someone on the course this last week has fallen on hard times and needed to take our spray fitting from the hose at the Bush toilets.
We thank Marianne Lanham for her donation of about 50 Black Panther Agapanthus and also a huge thank you also to Marianne for her donation of work gloves that would have been valued at about $100. We thank all of our Members who support us with donations. Your assistance is most appreciated.
YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
