The Scheduled Ladies Rookies Event For tomorrow has been cancelled and weather permitting a Stableford event will be held instead. You will need to check with the Pro Shop if carts will be allowed on the course as we have had a lot of rain today.

 Constant rain kept the golfers off the course for the day. No carts were allowed on the course because of the amount of rain that had fallen on Saturday and overnight.

We were lucky to have got the Men’s Championship in before the really heavy rain.

 The final Round of the Club Championship was held today in inclement weather.

RESULTS:

Congratulations to our Club Champion Matt Snelson who won by one point from Duncan Brown with great rounds played by both players. There was a lot of pressure today as Duncan Brown had a good lead at the start of today’s match. It was clinched by Matt on the 18th hole when he was on the 18th green for 2 and sank the putt for an Eagle. What a massive finish! Commiserations to Duncan who has played some great golf.

We had a wet start to our morning and eventually took an early mark for morning tea after getting some work done.

It was great to see 10 volunteers willing to come in inclement weather. On hand we had Duncan Dyer, Steve Hogg, Kevin O’Brien, Rob Benson, Peter Martin, John Hollebon,   Steve Robinson, Ron Gowing, Di Beechey and Jan Martin.

Projects worked on today were loose timber and rubbish pick up around the course, tidy up of the build up of weeds in the ex-Ladies garden at the 13th, removal of weed from the dams, clean up around the clubhouse, paths to the 1st and 10th tees, wedding garden and practice nets, tidy up of front street garden, cleaned the lights under the clubhouse, cleaned the bush toilets, tidied the 6th tranquility garden and partly weeded the 5th green garden.

We were all cold and wet so morning tea was appreciated and included a minI celebration of Duncan Dyer’s recent birthday.

We were lucky enough to miss most of the wet weather with just a small amount of sprinkles which was not enough to bring out the wet gear. Our playing partners today were Judy Ruitenberg and Mona Maher who were great company and we did enjoy some good highlights - the best of which was my 86 metre shot into the hole at the 2nd for 5/4 followed by a lot of noise and celebration.

F- Troop Morning Tea - Kevin O’Brien, Duncan Dyer, Steve Robinson, John Hollebon, Di Beechey, Rob Benson, Steve Hogg, Ron Gowing, Peter Martin (Nigel Asken, Jan Martin)

We had 11 volunteers this morning which was great support to our projects. The mains water was broken which meant our watering projects were brought to an immediate halt. However plenty of tidying up work waiting for us.

On hand we had Duncan Dyer, Kevin O’Brien, Steve Hogg, Rob Benson, Peter Martin, Nigel Asken, John Hollebon, Ron Gowing, Steve Robinson, Di Beechey and Jan Martin.

Projects worked on today was clean up around the clubhouse, paths to the 1st and 10th, Wedding Garden and practice nets, rubbish and loose timber pick up around the course, weed removal from the dams, firewood preparation, tidy up and trimming of the front street garden, painting of part of the 18th boundary fence, cleaning of the bush toilets, watering the 14th green space gardens, watering pots at the 6th tranquility garden, bike garden, ladies 9th tee garden and pot at the 9th green, weeding the native garden at the 6th, maintenance to pot plant in the wedding garden. 

We appreciated morning tea after a hard mornings work.

Golf - Monday 12th October 2020

 The Golf Event of the day was a Medley Single Stableford.

We had 24 starters with 3 visitors from Kooindah Waters, Shelly Beach and Magenta Shores.

Golf - Sunday 11th October 2020

 

With our playing partners today (socially distanced)

Steven and Annette Cross at the 1st Tee

We had a perfect weather day for golf today. Our playing partners were Steven and Annette Cross who were great company and helped me to break the 30 points barrier today. Our highlights were many but the best of which was Annette’s 4/4 on the 9th + the girls smashed the boys for the Keno Ticket on the 16th

The Golf Event of the day was a Single Stableford for Men and Ladies + 2Ball Team.

We had 79 starters with 4 visitors from Kooindah Waters, Wyong, Waratah and Qantas.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Annette Cross had 4/4 at the 9th, 4/3 at the 3rd, 3/3 at the 5th and suffered a bee sting at the 5th; Steve Cross showed off with pars at the1st and 2nd and then ....; Peter Martin had 5/3 on the 2nd, 5/3 on the 10th, 4/3 on the 13th and 4/3 on the 13th and the 16th; Clyde Cruickshank had a birdie on the 1st; Lauren Matterson parred the 6th; Marianne Lanham had 2 x 3 pointers on the back 9; Wal Robertson had 4 points at the 11th and the 3rd; Rhonda Robertson played good steady golf and Ladies beat the men for the Keno Ticket; Geraldine and Steve Turner enjoyed good company and had a good day; Brett Margin and Leonie Kelly both birdied the 16th and played with new members Shannon and Annette Woodley; Jan Walker had up and downs from three bunkers for 3 pointers; Neville Walker had 3 pointers on the 1st, 11th, 14th, 15th and 17th and a 4 pointer at the 9th; my highlights were being an improved player - scoring more than 30 points and won a ball, 3/4 at the 14th, 5/3 at the 15th, 3/4 at the 12th, 6/3 at the 11th, 5/3 at the 16th - 22 points at the back 9, beating the boys for the Keno Ticket and finishing with the same ball I started  with after fishing it out of the 3rd dam.
