F-Troop - Monday 4th March 2013

After something like seven inches of rain we thought we may not be able to achieve very much today.
We were not allowed to work out on the course with heavy machinery.

We had thirteen volunteers which was fantastic because we managed to get a lot of projects done that did not involve us being out on the course.  We had Duncan Dyer, Geoff Bridge, Trevor Harrison, Martin Gallagher, Don Nicholls, Peter Martin, Richard Casey, Rob Benson, Garry Trigg, Bruce White, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess and Jan Martin.

Blue sky and sunshine was very welcome as the club hosted the PGA Trainee Professionals Day. They had 56 starters and our Trainee Pro Tom Ballard was involved in the organisation of this day.  The winning score was 68 (3 under par)

Duncan Dyer worked on repairs to the old cart shed area with the help of Richard Casey & Rob Benson.

Peter Martin, Richard Casey & Rob Benson did a great job of cleaning out the F-Troop storage shed before helping Duncan with the shed.

Trevor Harrison, Don Nicholls, Geoff Bridge worked on installing a second water tank at the new cart shed.

Martin Gallagher, Garry Trigg and Bruce White worked on trimming the low palm trees that are on the left hand side of the 18th.  Geoff used his tractor driving skills to remove the rubbish from the trimming.

Di Beechey and Anne Burgess raked up the car park and side entrance, picked up rubbish in the car park, cleaned up the BBQ area, trimmed the garden at the back of the 10th tee and the hedge at the entrance to the 10th tee.

I cleaned up at the 1st and 10th gardens and paths and around the starters box assisted by Anne Burgess,
picked up rubbish & sticks, supervised the cutting of the shrubs at the front car park.

Morning tea was very welcome with warm from the oven loaf cake.  Thanks Chef John!

Hopefully next week we will be able to get back out on the course to see what needs to be done our there.

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
