Golf - Tuesday 17th July 2012







After a very chilly start it warmed into a beautiful sunny day and it was a pleasure to be out on the village green.

My playing partners were Di Beechey and Helen Stuart and we had a good day - pity about some of the golf.  We did have some good highlights between us to bring us back next week.

The Golf Event of the day was a Single Stroke - Club and 5th WGNSW Medal + Goodwill Plate.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Anne Burke had two gobblers; Margaret Maclachlan had a birdie at the 18th; Wendy Stapleton had a birdie on the 1st; Kathy Small scrambled well; Rae Brown had a gobbler on the 9th for a par; Pam Witt had a gobbler on the 7th; Leonie Casey had two pars; Glennis English whinged to her playing partners about the lay of her ball in the bunker - against the lip and resting on a root and then got the shot out well; Julie Hazzard was a good bunker player; Helen Potter had a birdie on the 4th; Chris Dekker parred the 9th; Sheen Asken parred the 9th with zero putts; Lorraine Linnert played a nice steady game; Lyn Cruickshanks played the par 3's well; Robin Incoll had a nice walk in the sunshine; Robyn Johnston enjoyed the nice sunny day; Di Beechey had a par on the 10th after a great shot in from the 11th fairway; Helen Stuart was a good support player; my one and only highlight was at the 4th green where I chipped out of the bunker and into the hole for a par

We had some good news from Jan Fitzgerald who arrived home from hospital today having recovered well from her surgery.
