Golf - Tuesday 1st May 2012

A nice weather day to play golf and the course was in good order especially the greens.

My playing partners today were Julie Craig and Robin Incoll who were good company. We finished our round in 4 hours which was great going and had a few highlights along the way.

The Golf Event of the day was Ladies Single Stableford + Vets in conjunction (3rd CCWGA Brooch)

We had 67 starters.

WINNER:  Dianne Beechey - 37 points on a countback

DIVISION 3 - 33 TO 45:

WINNER:  Elly Van Den Berg - 34 points

RUNNER UP:  Helen Stuart - 33 points

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me:  Felicity Mead hit her shot on the 17th between the smallest "V" in the tree at the dogleg corner; Annie Brink had a par on the 18th; Kath Payn, Helen Darkes and Rosalie Dyer all parred the 8th; Christine Drakeford played a good back 9; Rae Brown had a gobbler par on the 13th; Linda Rogers had a nice 39 points including a monster putt on the 5th; Lorraine Linnert had a good back 9; Fay Bailey had 23 points on the back nine including 6 pars; Robyn Johnston had a birdie on the 11th; Helen Stuart parred the 15th; Jan Walker had a birdie 2/5 on the 5th; I had two highlights - the 1st after I had hit the wrong ball on the 1st and suffered a 2 shot penalty, I sank a 30 foot putt to gain a point, the second was that I had no wipes for the day.
