F-Troop - Monday 30th April 2012

We had a very reduced team of volunteers today so we had to spread ourselves thin between maintenance projects on the course.  There was a Social Shotgun 8.30 am start that restricted our use of the course.

We had Duncan Dyer, Martin Gallagher, Rob Benson, Geoff Bridge, Bruce White, Peter Martin, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess and Jan Martin on duty.

Duncan, Martin, Geoff and Bruce were on tree duty - removing a large dead tree that was between the 11th & 12th fairways.  This tree was cut down and removed from the fairway with great efficiency by the F-Troopers working around the golfers hitting off the 12th and coming down the 11th.

Peter & Rob were on pick up duty - collecting rubbish and loose timber from around the course filling the ute up five times.

Di Beechey and Anne Burgess did a clean up of the driveway at the back of the club and the BBQ area.

Anne worked on her gardens at the BBQ area and at the 18th before helping Di & I at the 2nd green garden..

Di & I did some good maintenance jobs around the course - weed control at the 6th, 4th & the wedding garden area; planted out some more "yesterday, today & tomorrow plants at the garden at the 6th. These plants were donated to us by Bert Jordon; chipped and sprayed the Olive Trees at the 15th; Cut off a dead flower from the pony tail palm at the 15th; prepared a garden area at the 2nd green where we will be planting out some more succulent plants; tidied the 3rd ladies tee; watered the camellias & orchids at the 14th; checked the bush toilets; checked the position at the 2nd green where we intend to secure the Elk Horn Fern that was donated to us by Peter & Sandy Laybutt, replaced the stolen rope that guarded the hedge plants at the front steps of the clubhouse; removed the lower branches and unwanted shoots from the shrubs at the 2nd tee.

It was a good morning's work for nine volunteers and we appreciated morning tea of fruit pastries. Thank you Chef John!

YES!  WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!.
