The Summer heat took it's toll on some of us today with a hot humid day to start with that was somewhat relieved with a late southerly change in late afternoon and some welcome showers later in the evening.
Our playing partners today were Mark & Anne Stimpson who were, as usual, great company & pity about the golf. None of us played outstanding golf however we did have some good chip shots and occasional good putts to give us some highlights.
The Golf Event of the day was a 2 Ball Team + Single Stableford Mixed Men and Ladies.
We had 79 starters with one visitor from Nambucca Heads.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Brent Frewin and Clyde Cruickshanks both had birdies on the 18th; Anne Forrester and Lynn Cruickshanks won the keno ticket from the boys; Chris Dekker had a gobbler at the 18th for a par; Mary Bromwich had a gobbler on the 7th; David Small had a birdie chip in at the 16th - 20 yards for 3/3; Lynda Hartley & Kath Small won the keno ticket from the boys; Lynda Hartley had two 4 pointers in a row; Robyn Johnston finished well with some good 3 pointers; Wally Johnston ONLY had two 4 pointers today; Garry Trigg had a birdie at the 4th; Doreen Trigg had five 3 pointers on the back 9; Col Matterson had birdies at the 4th/5th/16th and 18th; Rae Brown & Yvonne Wilson beat the boys for the keno ticket; Rae Brown had two 4 pointers; Yvonne Wilson had some good 3 pointers on the back 9; Des Wilson birdied the 2nd and parred the 4/5/7/8/14/15 and 16th holes with his highlight being two 1 pointers on the 17th and 18th to save his handicap; Tania Burt and Spencer Walklate both finished with the same ball they started with; Peter & Sandy Laybutt & Kerry & Norma Cubis all parred the 15th hole; Kerry Cubis birdied the 6th; Sandy Laybutt had 22 points the back 9; Peter Laybutt had 18 points the front 9 ; Lorraine Bignall & Kevin O'Brien both combined well and came in with the same score.
For the first time ever - we did not have any winners present in the clubhouse for presentation so I have taken some candid photos around the room at Presentation in lieu of winners.
