Whew! Another big morning of work by F-Troop. Thank goodness it was much cooler than yesterday or we would not have made the distance.
We had 15 volunteers today which was fantastic as there was a lot of pick up to be done around the course with the high winds of yesterday.
Our volunteers today were Martin Gallagher, Duncan Dyer, Geoff Bridge, Peter Martin, Garry Trigg, Bruce White, Richard Casey, Rob Benson, Warren Gray, Des Wilson, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess, Yvonne Wilson, Georgina Lamb and Jan Martin.
Our 'tree gang' of Martin Gallagher, Duncan Dyer, Geoff Bridge, Des Wilson, Garry Trigg and Bruce White took care of cutting up and removing a lot of the timber from the 18th tee to our storage area for next year's firewood sales. Next week should see that mammoth job finished.
Di Beechey and Anne Burgess had a busy morning starting very early in the front car park & then moving to the BBQ area, 4th tee garden, 12th garden & weeding of the Blue Ice Conifers, the 7th tee and the 15th garden.
(Note to Members: A small red bellied black snake was spotted in the BBQ area gardens near the "Kangaroo Paw" garden - so take heed of the warning sign when you are near this area.)
Warren Gray & Rob Benson put two loads of mulch on the 17th garden as well as doing rubbish pick up around the course.
Peter Martin & Richard Casey were on pick up duty around the course & raking of some tees and areas.
Georgina Lamb worked with me at the 17th garden finishing off the weeding of the garden & trimming some of the camellia trees. This garden is full of colour with the Agapanthus now coming out in flower. We also planted another nice white flowering shrub that should grow nicely there.
Yvonne & Des Wilson went out after morning tea to attend to their adopted gardens at the 3rd, 5th, 14th and 15th.
Morning tea was very welcome by the F-Troopers after a hard morning's work. Chef John excelled himself providing us with a devonshire tea and some sweet bites. Thanks Chef John!
After all the rubbish pick up the course should look much improved as we have had a lot of loose timber coming down in the last few weeks.
