Golf - Sunday 4th September 2011

We had a beautiful day to celebrate Father's Day and to play golf.  Blue sky and warm sunshine made for a perfect day & the course has dried out really well. The good scores today back that up.

Our playing partners were Col & Lauren Matterson and we had a very enjoyable day with a lot of highlights not the least of which was winning the Team 1 X 2 X 3 Event.

The Golf Event of the day was a Team Stableford 1 X 2 X 3 + Single Stableford for Men and Ladies.

We had 72 starters with 7 visitors from Concord, Everglades, Magenta Shores, Mangrove Mountain, Oberon and Tanilba Bay.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me:  Yvonne Wilson had 4/4 on the 4th and 2/4 birdie on the 8th; Yvonne Wilson & Vicki Morris won the keno ticket from the boys; Col Matterson had birdies on the 8th, 11th and the 18th; Peter Martin had a birdie on the 16th; Lauren Matterson had a 4 pointer on the 5th; Vicki Foster scored a birdie on the 8th and did not have any wipes; Sean Fitzgerald (son of Vicki Foster)  hit a brilliant tee shot from the 17th; George Foster's highlight was beating Vicki for the keno ticket; Nancy Incoll (daughter-in-law of Doug and Robin Incoll)  had her first game as a member of Gosford Golf Club and scored 3rd place in the Ladies Singles Event with a fine 39 points; Greg Incoll  ( a member of Concord)  had birdies at the 10th and the 16th;  John Hazzard has had three games in a row without any wipes; Spencer Walklate had a 4 pointer on the 16th and a 4 pointer on the 6th; Ian Hartley had a birdie on the 8th; David Small had his best game in two years; Lynda Hartley had 24 points on the back 9 including 5/4 on the 18th and 5/4 on the 11th; Georgina Lamb played steady golf for her 40 points; Ron Puiatti had a birdie on the 5th; my highlight was scoring more than 30 points, winning a ball & being part of the winning team for the 1 x 2 x 3 event.
