F-Troop - Monday 12th September 2011

No rain again today was appreciated by F-Troop and all of the players participating in the KIDNEY FOUNDATION CHARITY DAY which was a 8.30 am shotgun start.

F-Troopers had plenty of jobs to do that did not interfere with the Charity Golf Day.  We worked with a skeleton crew as we had a lot of members unavailable for work today.

Peter Martin, Jan Martin, Des Wilson, Warren Gray, Bruce White, John Coddington, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess were on hand to make a difference,

Des Wilson & John Coddington installed a sign at the front of the club promoting a new membership offer.

Peter Martin, Warren Gray, Bruce White did a quick rubbish & loose timber pickup around the course before the shotgun start commenced.  After that they cut up a heap of old carpet for us to use as weed matting on the gardens,  Peter & Warren delivered the matting to the garden at the 6th where I had been spreading some new mulch & planting out a couple of new plants.  Warren & Peter helped to lay down the matting and spread the mulch on the back garden at the 6th tee. After morning tea Peter mowed the front street entry footpath on Racecourse Road.

Di Beechey & Anne Burgess cleaned up around the carpark, weeded & watered the gardens at the front of the club, the 10th tee and the putting green.

I trimmed the shrubs at the native garden at the 6th, spread the mulch on the gardens at the 6th, planted a couple of new flax plants at our "Peace & Tranquility" garden at the 6th, trimmed the hedges at the 1st tee.

Morning Tea was Croissants & Jam which was very welcome by all after a hard morning's work.
Thanks Chef John!

With a work crew of only eight members we did achieve a lot of tasks.

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

I have attached a couple of photos of Gosford Members and other players supporting the very popular Kidney Foundation Charity Day which is a regular Annual Event at our club.
