Golf - Sunday 17th July 2011

More bad weather interfered with our golf numbers today.  As it turned out the most of the match was rain free except maybe the last few holes which was not too bad considering how unsettled the weather has been.
In fact for the most of it the weather was reasonably pleasant & the course only wet in the most vulnerable places.

The Golf Event of the day was a 2 Ball Team + Single Stableford Mixed Men and Ladies.

We had 69 starters with one visitor from Oatlands.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me:  Nigel Asken scored a nice 35 points even if a little bit erratic scoring in order 3/1/3/1/3/1 points always managing to score a 3 pointer on the following holoe when the girls won a hole; Sheena Asken & Jan Martin's highlight was taking the boys to the 18th for the keno ticket battle; Lorraine Bignall parred the 1st, 4th & 15th; Donn Jansen's highlight was to be back at golf; Col Matterson scored a four after having to hit a ball almost in the water at the 7th; Leigh Kay birdied the 12th and generally played well for his 42 points; Norma Cubis' highlight was playing with Kerry & Graham Brown - both who scored 40 points with Kerry having a birdie at the 13th; Mike Crehan had birdies at the 15th and the 16th; Michael Norman had 23 points on the front 9; Pauline Norman had 5/3 on the 9th; Ron Puiatti had a birdie on the 4thl Robin Brann had two 3 pointers and two 4 pointers; Robbie Brann had seven 3 pointers; Joyce Bosley supported Robin Brann with 3 pointers when required; Dick Bosley sank a 40 foot putt on the 1st for 4/3; Vicki Foster had 4/4 on the 9th and a 4/3 on the 17th; George Foster parred the 18th and he and Des Wilson beat the girls for the keno ticket; George also had to shout after golf for his FRAT (failed to reach the associates tee) on the 13th (photo attached); Clyde Cruickshanks parred the back 9; Wally Robertson had a birdie on the 7th; Clyde & Wally beat the girls for the keno ticket; Yvonne Wilson had a gobbler 5/3 on the 9th; Des Wilson parred the 18th; Rhonda Robertson sank a 40 foot putt for 4/3 and a 30 foot putt on the 15th; Julie Hazzard had 4/4 on the 4th; Tania Burt had 3/4 on thre 14th and the girls beat the boys for the keno ticket; Arthur Collien had two 4 pointers and gobblers at the 15th and the 11th; Lyn Cruickshanks had 5/4 on the 2nd; Louise Bush had a birdie 2/5 on the 8th; Wally Johnston had five 3 pointers and the boys beat the girls for the keno ticket; Robyn Johnston had 22 points on the front 9.
