We were lucky that the weather held for us today at F-Troop as we had a lot of tasks and not many helpers. This week we had members interstate, playing pennants for the club, on sick leave or on holidays which left us with eight helpers.
We had Duncan Dyer, Geoff Bridge, Des Wilson, George Foster, Peter Martin, Warren Gray & Doug Incoll who all worked beyond the call of duty to get most of the allocated tasks done today.
Duncan, Geoff, Des and George ( fresh from his "Hole-in-one" effort yesterday) working on the removal of dead and nuisance trees at the 17th, 1st and the 10th as well as rubbish removal.
Warren Gray & Doug Incoll took charge of the F-Troop Ute and worked hard to rake and clean up at the 11th, 15th, 7th, the gutters between the 6th & the 13th, rubbish at the 6th and my work bins at the 1st - removing 3 ute loads of rubbish and then some. They then fronted up to clear out some of the loamy soil from the garden at the 1st. Thanks Warren & Doug - you both did an exceptional job today.
Peter & I assisted with the raking and clearing at the 11th, 15th, 7th & 6th, fixed up some broken borders at the 15th & chipped weeds at the 15th garden, fixed up some garden stakes at the garden at the 18th and cleared stickes and raked the paths between the 17th & 18th including cleaning of the steps at the 17th.
Our very welcome morning tea was in the Spike Bar as the outdoor table & chairs have been spirited off to be painted. Our thanks to our friendly kitchen staff for a lovely morning tea of yummy fresh from the oven fruit pastries.
We made good use of our new work bench today (donated by Duncan Dyer) which will be very useful also when we get into painting mode.
