Golf - Tuesday 20th April 2010

We had a lovely day for golf today with the warm weather lasting well into April we have been fortunate to miss some of winter's early chills. My playing partners today were Kay Adams & Helen Stuart who were great company. We had a nice day on the village green with not a lot of highlights along the way as we struggled to get the ball to the hole on the slow greens. The bi -annual maintenance has been done recently & slow greens are usual at this time until the greens are ready to be slicked down.

The event of the day was a Ladies Single Stableford and we had 82 starters including visitor Lenore Brazoner from Hammersley WA.

WINNER: Pauline Norman - 38 points

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Silvia Lee had a gobbler birdie on the 12th and 2 pars; Fran James parred the 5th and the 6th; Susan Bourne, Ros Singleton & Linda Rankin all had a par on the 8th; Sue Hutton had 7 pars; Bev Adams had 35 points using her new set of clubs; Pauline Norman had 3/4 on the 8th; Lynn Puiatti had 23 points on the back 9; Debbie Grinham had a birdie gobbler on the 8th; Merran Adams had a birdie gobbler on the 12th; Soo Chun had two 4 pointers, 4 pars to score 40 points.

Another highlight of the day comes from Rosalie Dyer who became a grandmother again with the birth of a brand new grand daughter this afternoon at 1.50 pm - Tahlia Jaye weighing in between 6 1/2 and 7 lbs with blond curly hair. Congratulations to Rosalie & Duncan who are very proud grandparents. I am sure I will have a photo to follow....
