Golf - Sunday 28th June 2009

It was a very busy day at Gosford Golf Club today. Some beautiful sunny weather was a big help and the course is gradually starting to dry out with the odd 'problem' areas still causing some grief. We had 96 starters at the golf event and in the evening we entertained the Ladies participating in the Ladies Vets events events this coming Monday and Tuesday at Gosford. A meet and greet eveing was held in the Magnolia room so that the 170 odd participants had the opportunity to register for the event & meet other golfers.

The Event of the day was a 2 Ball Team + Single Par Mixed Men and Ladies.

We had 96 starters with visitors from Everglades, Kempsey, NSW and Terrigal.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Sue Waugh had a hole in one on the 14th and won the nearest the pin on the 8th; Mick Wilson had a birdie on the 5th; Brent Frewin had birdies on the 10th, 12th and the 2nd; Pauline Norman left her buggy switched on at the 8th and Michael had to do a swan dive to save it from going into the bunker; Jim Forrester's buggy went AWOL into a tree on the 18th upending all of it's contents; Kay Adams had a lovely par on the 18th; Des Wilson had a birdie on the 18th; Yvonne Wilson parred the 11th; Mark Stimpson had a birdie on the 16th; Jan Walker had a birdie on the 5th; Julie Hazzard had a birdie on the 15th and followed that with a nice par on the 16th; Ron Puiatti landed all his 3 par drives on the dance floor bar the 8th hole.
