Golf - Monday 29th June 2009

We have been very fortunate with the weather this week and today was a perfect sunny day for the first day of the Ladies Veterans two day event which has attracted over 170 starters.
The course has dried up considerably over the last couple of days. There are a few sticky areas but overall it is much improved from the condition it was in for the Championships.
The Ladies have done an excellant job at presenting the club for the day with some table & chairs outside and a sumptuous morning tea on offer. Di Beechey made some great table settings to add some charm to the morning tea area and Paula Drew was very creative with her "painted golf shoes" decorating the 1st and 10th tees. Plants on loan from the Narara Valley Nursery also added a nice touch to the front area of the club.
I will have some photos for you later as I am not attending the dinner to get my own photos. Today I spent out in the gardens & tomorrow I will have some golf photos for the records.
Many thanks to our volunteers who put the day together and also to the members who gave up some time to do some valuable spotting out on the course which helps the rounds to run smoothly and faster.
