Golf - Tuesday 26th August 2008

A lovely hot day at last for the lady golfers and especially so as today was our very special "Grandmothers Day" that everyone looks forward to playing.

My playing partners today were Yvonne Wilson & Robin Incoll - as none of us were yet grandmothers we participated in the event of the day which was a Single Stableford event and we had 82 starters.

The course had a lot of run on it and we had some fabulous scores in as you can see by the results.

DIVISION 2: 8th Hole: Elizabeth McNamara; 14th Hole: Sharon Anderson

DIVISION 3: 8th Hole: Lynn Puiatti; 14th Hole: Dawn Tromp

BALLS WENT TO 34 points on a countback.

CCR: 73 (36 points)

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Michele Martin had birdies on the 7th and the 11th; Dawn Tromp shanked her tee shot at the 7th at right angles narrowly missing Linda Rogers and got her buggy ( incidently it was Dawn's birthday today); Lesley Gregory got 40 points and played a very steady game; Margaret Davidson parred the 10th hole; Lorraine Linnert was at the side of the 18th green for 3 shots. Her chip shot onto the green hit Sheena Askens ball that was already on the green and stopped her ball from going further - then she proceeded to sink the putt in one - Lorraine says thank you to Sheena Asken, the gallery on the balcony suggested to Lorraine that her putting was great but that she should practice her chipping; Doris Morris had a birdie on the 14th; Bev Walker had 37 points today having just come back from a two and a half months break; Wendy Stapleton had birdies on the 9th and the 18th; my highlight today was getting a gobbler on the 13th to score 7/1 and not wiping any holes.
