Golf - Sunday 23rd May 2021

With my playing partners at the 12th tee

Kevin O’Brien, Rosalie Dyer and Duncan Dyer.

Geraldine Turner, Fran James, Owen James and Steve Turner

At the 12th Tee.

We had a bit of a cold change to our weather today - we are not acustomised to cold weather as yet - we know winter is well on its way so we did appreciate the sunshine when it did appear. We were lucky enough to be safely inside the clubhouse before the heavier showers set in.

My playing partners today were Kevin O’Brien, Duncan Dyer and Rosalie Dyer (Peter is still resting his back injury). We had a good day on the Village Green thankfully finishing before the heavier showers hit. We did have some good highlights from all of us with some good 3 pointers, The girls beat the boys for the Keno ticket which was definitely a highlight for the girls, and Jan scored more than 30 points which has broken a long standing record and winning a ball.

The Golf Event of the day was a Single Stableford for Men and Ladies.

We had 74 starters.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Kevin O’Brien played a steady game for his 35 points; Rosalie Dyer got some good 3 pointers at the right time and sank a 30 foot putt on the 8th; Stephen  and Geraldine Turner enjoyed good company with Owen and Fran James; Col Matterson had birdies at the 9th,13th and 18th; Lauren Matterson had a gobbler on the 9th for5/3; Lynn Puiatti enjoyed steady golf with no wipes; Clyde and Lyn Cruickshanks enjoyed good company with Garry and Kay Baillie; George Foster played with the same ball all the way and enjoyed some good pars; my highlights were getting out of the bunker on the 18th and sank the putt, doing some good chip shots to the green, scoring more than 30 points since I can’t remember when!
